"i can't steal a $15 game!"

Not installing Malware onto my computer intentionally. I dont know why companies do this. And as for stealing allegations, I promise you my library is bigger than yours, both on Steam an Physically. I just am 35years old and have seen Denuvo evolve over the years, seen it as a rootkit, and seen it lock you key to specific hardware, and ive seen many instances of its implementation result in lower game performance. What bothers me is that im actually one of the few old-arses out here who are interested in buying old JRPGs. Yet they are so worried about piracy, that they use one of the most obtrusive forms of DRM in existence. I think saying something is the only way possible to let these companies know where we stand on the matter. I own hundreds of games on steam and follow a curator that updates games that either have denuvo added or removed.

He can. Everyone can. He can play already without waiting for 19th. What's the point of denuvo on PSP port?

Agreed. I've never been fond of these anti-denuvo posts and to be honest, I couldn't care less, but this is getting ridiculous.

This game, Sonic Origins, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection.... those games have been around for over 15 years, there's just nothing to protect here (yet, consumers will have to pay for it cause Denuvo is not free). They didnt even bother reincluding the cutscenes from the PS2 version (too much work to put a few mpeg I guess), yet they pay to protect 15+ years old games... Weird business decision

I am over 30 as well and i cant relate at all.

To this day no problems with denuvo.

Odd. I too am 35 and have not seen all of these claims of the horrors of Denuvo.

I fail to understand why we as a community have decided to rally against Denuvo instead of DRM at large when Denuvo has not been particularly more intrusive than any other form of DRM.

But no, like maybe a dozen anecdotal videos from not particularly reputable sources show maybe like a 1 to 2 percent drop in performance on a handful of titles on specific rigs... the horror.

ALL DRM is ♥♥♥♥, denuvo is just extra ♥♥♥♥ due to how intrusive it is and how often it can make calls ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with drives and performance. Not to mention the online requirement crap. I lost my ability to continue playing Tales of Berseria for a while because my internet went down for a few days and denuvo threw a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fit and locked me out of the game I PAID FULL PRICE FOR. And a pirate would be able to keep playing that game and wouldn't have had to pay ♥♥♥♥ to boot.
It's also the go to for JP companies, so throwing a fit about Denuvo specifically makes more sense there than about DRM in general (in fact bad reactions like this is why Bamco stopped putting DRM in most of their games entirely). And is more likely to reach more people that way. It's also more likely to spread due to hating on one specific program being easier than a concept in general when it comes to memetic potential and ideas spreading.

Oh? So what denuvo brings to you as a customer?

they are "too smart" but you will see them use a mobile game that is filled with google DRM and a lot of loot boxes and p2w items

0 issues with DRM just stop play on linx like how normal peaple do.

all of you go complain about microtransactions not DRM that cause no harm.

having "Full game" is good deal with these days.

Why does it have to bring me anything?

It's not for my benefit. It's for the publishers and developers.

How about you tell me what Denuvo has actually done to negatively impact you as a consumer? Personally. Not some article or video that has been cited for the Nth time about alleged performance drops or claims of how people have permanently lost access to some of their games.

It's so easy for people to regurgitate something they read or watched on the internet about the horrors of Denuvo, it's another story entirely for most people to describe even one situation where they have been impacted.

It has locked me out of games, has tanked performance in games noticeably for me due to having to low-spec game for 1.5 years while my laptop was dying, and has caused these issues in several games for me to the point I wait for games to remove such DRM entirely or get console versions of games nowadays if they're going to have such DRM and it doesn't get removed. Though I do have a beefier computer now I've been burned one too many times and the large amount of read/write calls it can make worry me for the health of my computer's SSDs. NVMEs aren't cheap you know.
I, a PAYING ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CUSTOMER, should not lose access to the product that I PAID FOR just because my internet goes down for a few days and it's been longer than the arbitrary check period since I last booted the game. At that point why should I pay for the product when getting it from a suspicious site or torrenting it will give me a superior product, or just emulating the console version if it's an older game like this one or a game with a release on a weaker console. When that "precracked N0 V1RvS" version runs better than the paying customer version of course I'll take the illegitimate copy, get a better product, and save my money. Only an idiot would do otherwise provided such a crack or superior emulate-able version exists.

1- upgrade your pc or play "old" games then.

2- don't buy NVME,

3- SSD is cheap maybe stop buying Samsung SSD?

4- all or "most" people have internet the whole year also most games check once per 2 weeks unless you trigger them

5-you don't have the right to do "prohibit" stuff even if you can do it easily., I can download 1000 art from others and then Photoshop it easily too.

6- still you its a big difference between "native" vs "emulator" game/software.

7- "provided such a crack" only one team work on that....
