As an achivement hunter, the "repurposed" achievement really triggered me.
If you dont know, you cant forcefully pull any chips from any machine for the data map. And you have to get all the data map from all the machine. Imagine forcefully pulling a chip from the 2nd machine because you dont know what it does and you get another achievement and realised 25hrs in that you cant do that or else you get lock out

Now I have to do NG+ for it and I cant save scum it.

Rant over

It's the same for ShuanShuan's pot achievement. After giving him the clay, he gets a pottery wheel and starts making stuff. If you're not paying attention to the fact you can break the pot he has while he's working, the next time you hop into the pavilion, Shuan's done making pots and you missed the achievement.

I knew about the achievement and still missed it because I thought the pot needed to be complete before you can get the achievement... Even the phrasing suggests so. They should just make the pot breakable afterwards...

totally agree. i mean it isnt hard to just leave a pot there and just let ppl get the achievement. why make it missable

wait wouldnt you have had to do some of ng+ anyway? since theirs two achieves for the different choice? though i assume to proc the "get them all" achievement you have to re-get them *all*, and not just the one you missed which i agree does kinda suck. (pure speculation based on how ng+ usually works in similar games)

There's a "point of no return" that the game informs you of near the final area. Once you complete the game and get an ending, you're able to continue that file by being placed back at the point of no return, so you can do optional stuff and possibly gain access to the other ending option.

So for the few missable achievements like the map data one, if you mess it up you do have to start a new save from scratch (or use a backup save if you can).

I completed 100% around an hour ago and I was in the position a few hours before that of having every achievement except repurposed. I booted up a new save, put on story mode with max damage, and it took only around 3 hours to complete the entire game in a speed run fashion up to the point of getting the final achievement.

Doesn't take long to run the whole game again, and if you really just wanted the achievements, you can do it on story mode. But with enough hours on Eigong and clearing it on standard difficulty including the true ending, I'd say, either or, it doesn't matter; story mode just lets you breeze through, but the game is easy and short enough that you can speed run the achievements even on normal.

I thought there'd be an achievement for not using the gene eradicator the first time round, activated the boss, and found out that he doesn't just jump back into the pod for me to use the gene eradicator after on a death.
