lady ethereal kinda sucks
first phase doesnt even need to exist its a joke/waste of time, second and third phase pretty much share the same attacks except for that one gimmic in phase three where you pogo the two attacks and then dash her explosion and get some damage in. that being the only cool move in the fight the rest just feels ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring, rng based and so so slow for no reason, there should really be some type of tell on the clones rather than having to hit them and which clone she becomes shouldnt be random the fight is sooooooo long/slow when she shows up only like after 4+ attacks every time. This boss is the epitome of please stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ running away and let me attack you bleh fight 2/10 even if she just had a way larger health bar and damaging the clones actually affected her but to a lesser degree so you could feel like your not just waiting would make the fight feel way less un rewarding. Luckily didnt take too many tries maybe like 7 last night but jesus man this fight almost makes me think "hey moonlight butterfly isnt THIS bad is it?" (moonlight butterfly is almost certainly worse but recency bias my beloved)

also like i guess its not too hard to figure out but it would have been nice if the game tells you gene eradicator makes jiequan easier, I just thought you had to use the eradicator to start the fight and I saw an achievment for it and was frankly assuming it would make the fight harder (yes i read the item im aware it says the opposite) but i assumed there would be some trick wherein trying to weaken his genes makes him stronger or something idk
If the game is too difficult for you. remember that there's a Story Mode difficulty and it can be changed at any time.
This isn't an easy game, and if you continue to have troubles, I would recommend playing on Story mode.
Skill issue.

Lady Ethereal's clones are balanced because stunning the real one unsummons all clones and their attacks simultaneously, and she's stunned with a talisman.

Being too impatient to read the item description or being reverse-psychology'ed into making the Jiequan fight easier is on you. It only makes a difference for the 1st phase anyway. If you thought the 1st phase was easy, he'd still be mostly easy, just without the coughing fits.

If you're an achievement 403, you need to use the gene eradicator to 100% the game.
Try using the Water Flow skill. You can just use it as an extra midair dash and it helps a lot with mobility. Once you land a hit and she doesn't disappear, use it to lock her in place for a bit so you can land some hits.

Mid air parry also blocks in both directions, which helps a lot.

yo mr white this community might be even more braindead and stuck up than dark souls.... not a single one of you can read nor addressed the fight is still rng and takes too long and smacking 6 clones waiting for the game to decide you can finally deal some damage is unenjoyable and unrewarding. and apparently we all missed the bit where ive already beaten the boss, in under 10 tries?... yall got analytical skills so poor yall shouldnt even be allowed to review games... nonetheless vote...
also not a single person touched on the fact its a 3 phase fight, wherein the first phase is pointless and the fight as a whole doesnt have enough varied attacks/patterns the fight would unironically be better if the spell effects lingered longer and actually made navigating the fight a semi difficult platforming challenge... remember guys dont think critically at all about any form of anything you consume, nor anything you post :steamhappy::steamhappy:

You're so defensive, you start calling people names :zaglol:

Also, your 1st two posts said nothing about "lingering effects making the fight a semi difficult platforming challenge", that's just some bullsh** you made up to save face. Also, wonder why you're shifting toward "pfft it ain't even hard" when you were initially whining about wanting to deal HP damage to her clones. That's the main point I was addressing there, because phase 2 is the main phase where you need to hit her clones. 3rd phase, you just wait for her to open herself to an attack. The only reasonable point you bothered making is the 1st phase feels like a time waster because of how easy it is. Everything else is just you complaining about your skill issue.

You're allowed to have your opinion. Not everyone enjoys Lady Ethereal's fight, while others think it's the best. I'm just here to comment on your skill issue "solutions" lol

still didnt mention the lack of diverse skills and the fact its overlong and rng dependant and yes the difficult platforming challenge was another idea to make the fight harder and more engaging you are a braindead bot gl lil bro take ur braindead ass back to hades lololol and it wasnt hard in the first place hence the 7 tries what could possibly have suggested a hard fight in the post, i made assorted ideas that could make the fight more fun... you genuinely cant read lmao, jiequan and ji are both way more difficult AND MORE IMPORTANTLY FUN i would rather run it back against ji 50 times than play against this boring schlop twice this fight is piss boring and akin to the moonlight butterfly which i dont think a single sentient being could ever classify as difficult, if this is your fav boss well, im sorry your a rtrd and yeah i think giving her a much larger hp pool and dmg to clones actually doing something so you know, you are REWARDED FOR ATTACKING NOT WAITING ON RNG would be fun. theres 2 bits in all caps bc it seems you lost your reading glasses hopefully you can see this time :) also the first 2 phases r piss easy, and then the only hard part of the 3rd phase is the gimic attack i mentioned originally (this was 3 of my deaths and pretty lame before i figured out the solution to dodge it WHICH I IN TURN STATED IN THE POST IS A PRETTY COOL ATTACK)

intelligence issue.
Please please please, dont reproduce, I beg.
Im very sorry your sped ass had to run it down 150 tries into lady ethereal so you are uber defensive over it but its okay man, you can go into the real world and actually accomplish something worth feeling defensive and proud over

Look, ma! It's a lolcow!

It's funny watching you sperg out like a child, desperately looking for anything to try and make fun of, like I care what you think about my taste in avatars or games lol. But it's rich you calling ppl ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but don't know how to grasp proper capitalization and punctuation. Only reason I'm even calling that out is because it makes your piss-baby whining difficult to read.

While simultaneously trying to make it easier by just randomly hitting clones to kill the boss? Skill issue.

Also, Jiequan has fewer variations in his attacks than Ethereal. Stop pissing your diaper just because someone is criticizing your crybaby opinion. Let your balls descend for the first time in your life, if you even have any.
I can agree that the first phase becomes boring on the second try since it's just a tutorial. But i find the idea of chip damage in phase 2 goes completely counter to what makes LE unique. She's a boss where you can take risky gambles, rushing a clone to interupt its attack, and long as you can react to it being the real LE you can get a 5qi full-control + an arrow in for some mad damage.

Though i guess i'm biased since i really liked The mantis lords, and she's basically a tao-punk remaster of them

interesting i never thought of them like the mantis lords ive been using the water flow rather than the big explosion combos that could definitely increase dps during those short windows I didnt really find anything risky about the fight tho idk it felt kinda monotonous but i am also a big fan of mantis lords and their empowered version is awesome
