I think you'll be quite happy you experienced it, but it's not a story where everything gets fixed and wrapped up nicely by the end.
One thing I did enjoy about the game is the elements of a father figure raising, protecting and caring for a son (without being too boring). It's a wholesome feeling with some touches of humor and cuteness, however losses will happen and one of the core themes is learning to let go and the natural cycle of life and death.
From that description, I'd say the game tries to tug at your heart strings and probably wouldn't be a fit for people looking for happy rainbows and cookies. If you want to experience cute characters that you may like and enjoy growing closer to, I'd recommend it.
