This game has the worst hitboxes I have ever seen
Reminds me of d3 launch when I would get hit by a skeleton swinging a sword on the other side of the screen. Unfortunately I already played 2.2 hours before realizing just how horrible these hitboxes are. I will literally dash behind an enemy and get hit by them swinging a giant sword in the other direction. What is the point of even having eyes?

Yeah, I wish I could refund the game but I'm past the 2 hours. This game has way too many problems with it's hitbox for perfect parry. Dash is the only thing that I can reliably use to get away from attacks. But you only get one dash and no dbl jump. That kick counter thing sucks so much. I also don't like the map design.

you don't need to perfect parry just parry even if you get internal damage from parrying too early, you are incapable from being killed from internal damage. You also heal from it overtime as well. You do get double jump and another way to counter, plus other things.

First tip this game plays more like sekiro than hollowknight, panic dodging will not help you help at all. Learning to deal with the onslaught of attacks is the only way to progress so you have to learn to parry decently and use dodge as a secondary way to avoid getting hit not the primary unlike most game.

Sounds like you don't enjoy the enemy turning to hit you because you thought you can just dash to the other side of them.

You can still dash *away* from them if you really want to dash all the time but I bet you don't want to do that because you'd put yourself out of range of melee.

Or you can just parry the attacks...

It can be pretty funky. Also infinite tracking on any attack combo.

The game was really predominantly designed around you parrying stuff. If you don't do this you will end up with annoyances like this.

They don't turn to hit me. I dash behind them, they then swing in the direction they are facing when I am behind them, and I get hit when my character body is not even remotely close to the body of the sword. This is just flat out bad game design and a waste of $20.

sounds like a skill issue lol. game is designed to encouraged parrying not dash spam

Sounds like you are trolling. What does skill have to do with the hitboxes being visually misrepresented? I would love to hear a theory on that position.

I get the impression you're talking about the Red Centaur fight. Yeah, some of his attacks hit way behind him, even though they clearly shouldn't. It pissed me off, and I agree, that should be changed.

However, this is the game's way of telling you that you should be parrying instead of trying to dash through everything. Parrying his attacks makes that fight WAY easier. But granted, this is not a great way of conveying this information.

I played thru the game twice and haven't seen what you're describing. Closest would be certain characters whose swings start behind them and swipe in front of them (i.e. it will hit stuff behind AND in front).

I'd need to see which enemies you're talking about.

One of the only egregious examples I've seen is the

final boss' talisman attack, as even if you dash through it and appear to be on the other side of her, you still get caught sometimes

From what I saw in just two hours I can't believe anyone is being serious and genuine when saying this doesn't happen and "they need proof." I can't even come up with a game off the top of my head that has had more disproportionate hit/hurtboxes and I play a ton of games.

You made the thread. Didn't you want to talk about it? Or do you just want someone to give you a reach around?

There is no way you played through the game twice and didn't notice this issue. What is the point in talking to you when you make comments like that?

I only asked which enemies you'er talking about. Just give a name (and/or location) and I can probably figure out which attacks you're talking about and/or test it myself.

As for not noticing the issue, that's why I asked. Once you get to a certain point in the game, parrying becomes so second nature that trying to dodge through attacks is just not worthwhile. Playing through the 2nd time will paint my bias to parrying even worse which is why I'm curious.

Look we need more information for one reason most of us have not suffered wonky hitboxes. We are not trying to crucify you or just say your wrong , but we can't just immediately take what you say as fact either. So information is the only way forward as we can check that easily.
