Yeah same here. By the time I beat him I was going perfect on the first phase and only got hit once or twice on the second phase.
I know its frustrating, because while game runs 120hz, enemies run 4 frames per second, or I guess, they could even be called '' sprites'', because of how game is designed.
So its Sekiro with 4 sprites per second. Sound and white appearing colour is better in indicator than visuals.
On Steam Achievements 86% of players get first achievement ( meaning they keep the game to play)
61% Complete that boss.
So 1/4 of game owners dont even get past first boss and paid half price of AAA game.
While i'm not a HK fanboy and hate how they always act very elitist and snobby saying this is just weird. What is better is subjective and thus cannot be laughably wrong as it depends on the person. I find Ori the best MV's and i think HK is pretty good, i did not like nine sols however but that's just me.
He's definitely different from the other bosses you tend to fight. He's maybe the one boss fight where the thundercloud arrow (AoE arrow) is the best choice. If you land it on an enemy right where he is you can shred through a lot of adds. Additionally, try to stay in the air as much as possible, that seemed to be a big help for me, and be very aggressive, not passive, or you might get overwhelmed.
Yingzhao, as one of the first real bosses, is teaching you how to 'dodge' the way the game wants you to dodge - by parrying. You jump into attacks and parry the way you'd dash past attacks in Hollow Knight.
