Report a translation problem
1. Qi charges which are the circles under your health bar. You can fill these charges by parrying attacks either normal parry or precise parry.
2. Using the set talisman button near a target. For me, I was using a PS4 controller for the game so it was L1 to use talismans. If no target is near/you miss/you hit, the Qi charges will be consumed.
3. The type of talisman you have equipped. You start with Qi Blast as the equipped talisman and to use it, you don't press the button from component 2, you hold it down which will charge the talisman. You have to complete the charge part or the talisman will not explode. Lastly, there are 2 other types of talismans you can use that function differently on this component, for example, Water Flow only requires you push the button near a target which will plant the talisman and explode by itself after a delay.
There was a tutorial toward the beginning (two tutorials if you died somewhere during the 1st area) that shows you how to do this.
Do note that unless you're using a specific ability to get later, you will get interrupted if you get hit before you can explode your talisman.
