Report a translation problem
Because the bell puzzle comes first and the other bells later, i think the design misguides the player to assumes that the solution might be linked from the bell puzzle. The player just randomly realizes to charge attack the other bells or waits for the Ballad and in frustration simply googles.
Had I not found this discussion, I wouldn't have realized for a long time what needs to be done. The other option would have been to use hints, which no one wants to do.

You can interact with Large bells at any time by hitting them with Charge Slash. If you're having trouble crossing the lake with the large bell, use your charge slash attack on it. The song only applies to the Daybreak Tower door puzzle.
