Thank you for Story Mode
Multiple times I was tempted to bite the bullet and switch to it (read: almost every Sol) because having a skill issue convinced me I didn't want to play through a difficult game right now, but I was really interested in the story.

But I never did. From Goumang through Eigong's final phase every boss had me feeling like they were an insurmountable mountain to climb, and some of the level encounters had me frustrated too. However, I stuck through and have never felt as rewarded mastering a game since Sekiro. Thank you Red Candle Games, for not only designing a great game but also teaching me self-control and accepting the path I was on. Fits with the game's theme, too.

The only thing I always say to people who struggle with hard games, stop treating it like you're supposed to win within your first 3 tries. Try to treat all the bosses like a puzzle you have to solve, surely you wont find the answer immidiately but every try helps you find the next piece of it until you completed the puzzle.

The only boss I really spent a lot of time on (Around 4-5 hours) is 3 Phase Eigong and I can tell you that she can barely touch me anymore, and that's NOT because I'm such a god gamer, I believe everyone can do it, even my gf who has only started playing hard games a few months ago.

I'm not that far into the game and already considered switching several times.
I've never suffered while playing a game like I have here.

To me, it's always been about "If other players can do it, I can too". The Story mode is more or less an option for if I wouldn't care about that. Some games are slogs you're just trying to endure to get to the end so putting on story mode isn't so bad an option. But I really did enjoy everything about Nine Sols. I read all the biographies and inventory entries, I spent my time with all the dialog and I'll have to go back and go for full achievements after I take a break. In this case, I didn't want to just get through the game, I wanted to experience the whole thing, even the tough parts.
