how hard is the game ?
I reached the four seasons palace, and... It was quite hard for me x) . I needed three or four tries to kill the first boss, I had difficulties against regular enemies (they killed me several times in the very first area)...

This is the kind of difficulty that should have made me give up, but I've been catch by the aesthetic and the atmosphere, so I want to continue the game. Now I wonder if I should activate the easy mode.

... I'm used to this kind of games; and I know that the difficulty can increase (in which case, it's better to give up quickly - or activate the easy mode quickly), or decrease (as you get more abilities, and get a better understanding of how the game works). Hence this thread : should I activate the easy mode right now, or does it become easier as it progress ?

If you can beat the first boss, you can definitely beat the other bosses.
Except the last boss. You will not like the last boss.

If you don't learn the parry system, you're in for a REALLY hard time. Even when you do learn the parry system, this game still demands a lot from you and you will die a good amount of times.

Thankfully, for people that want to enjoy an easier time or just enjoy the story, can play story mode.

Personally, I believe you should activate easy mode when you are no longer having fun in standard mode.

Some part of this game is harder than hollow knight to me. You dun really have to use parry mechanics in hollow knight so there are a lot of ways to fight each enemy in the game, but nine sols has something to do with parry, so..
Well, jumping part is easy though.
For me, I played standard mode for the first play through and turned on easy mod in the second play through.

If you died to the first boss just three times, you're good enough to beat the game, he's tough for an introductory fight and people complain about his difficulty. But yeah, the last few bosses are hard, and the final boss is really hard.

I think you may be thinking of a different "first" boss than OP. You're thinking the one after finding the pavilion, not the one before - which maybe didn't even register as a boss to you because of how easy he is and no one complains about him.

The game is hard, that's true, but a little challenge is fun and a part of life, my dad told me. Just accept the challenge and have fun!

But the first boss isn't that hard. In fact, you can even possibly one-shot him, like me! But tbh: i played the demo so i knew how to deal with that guy XD

I turned the difficulty down for Lady Ethereal and the final boss and I have no shame about it. They are insane.

Listen man, its a single player game. Just play in the way that is most fun for you.

Beat the first sol and you will get your answer.

Oh it is EXTREMELY hard. It's a Sekiro like in that regard. General exploration is fine (if a bit hard) but the bosses will challenge your reflexes. Don't assume you'll be first trialling any boss haha. it is very good however if you like this type of games.

the last boss will make you wish you refunded. i wouldnt recommend this game unless you are someone who enjoys poorly balanced bosses and sloppily designed mechanics.

The game's very difficult (I died upwards of 50 times to each Sol boss excepting 3rd and 7th) however it is neither poorly balanced nor unfair. Just hard and that's the whole point of this game - all of the effort has gone into the combat, the platforming is very simple and not remotely difficult and the exploration is fun but limited.

It's about bosses, hard as nails bosses. But you'll feel amazing when you beat them. If it ever gets too much drop it to Story mode which has a tonne of accessibility options to trivialize combat.

The world, setting, and story are interesting enough I enourage everyone to finish it even if it's on Story Mode...and the game's short enough that once you know what's coming it may be fun to beat it on Standard difficulty

Don't be discouraged by getting killed by grunt enemies or taking multiple tries to kill a boss. That's the expected experience, it doesn't mean you're bad at the game or anything. But if you're not excited to keep having that experience, yeah I would bump it down to story mode.
