How I beat Eigong - Jade + Talisman loadout tip
Eigong is the hardest boss in the game in my opinion. Unsurprisingly, the number of players who beat all her phases (including the true ending) is currently very low (almost 5 %).

This boss is very aggressive and quick, with few openings, and hits very hard. Most of the time, you will be (or trying to) parry all her attacks, even the red ones. This means your Qi charges will be maxed out almost all the time. This is something that you can use to your benefit with the Talisman system.

I tried using many Jade and Talisman combos and I finally figured out one loadout which worked for me and synergized well. This build exploits the rapid Qi build up during the fight and turns that into damage through both Talismans, and your arrows.

NOTE: This build should work well for ANY boss and not just Eigong.

1) Talisman: Qi Blast (uses 3 Qi charges for detonation and replenishes a bow charge)

I experimented with all 3 talisman types, and found this one to be the best. A fully upgraded Qi blast comes with the benefit of replenishing 1 Azure Bow charge every time you detonate a talisman (very useful). The detonation itself is fast enough that you can feasibly use it many times during the fight.

Full Control was too slow for me - exploding all 5 Qi charges took way too long, and the later phases of the boss will just destroy you. Qi Blast on the other hand is surprisingly quick. Water Flow is also great for this fight, but the utility of replenishing a bow charge is lost (which is the build's strong suit).

2) Jades :
  • Hedgehog Jade (Deals internal damage to enemy with precise parries ) - no brainer, perhaps the best Jade in the game
  • Iron Skin Jade (Transfers some portion of damage to internal damage) - Helps with survivability, and builds up your internal damage which is helpful for the next jade;
  • Reciprocation Jade (transfers part of your internal damage to your enemy after a successful unbounded counter) - You will be parrying many red attacks in her later phases, and this jade is very useful for turning the tides and dealing damage through defense.
  • Quick Dose Jade (healing is faster) - I found this very useful since the openings you get in this fight to heal are very short, and this jade makes it possible to do that.

Other good jades - Breather Jade (recover internal damage with attacks) and Recovery Jade (internal damage heals faster)

3) Azure Bow : Cloud Piercer X

The cloud piercer X arrow is insanely good for this fight because it stuns Eigong EVERYTIME. It was immensely useful to to stun her out of attacks which I felt I was not in a good position for (such as her red charged attacks). This can also be followed up with a talisman attack to keep her in a "pseudo stunlock".

The usual downside with the bow is that you are limited to only 5 arrows. But in this build, you will constantly replenish your arrow charges through your Talisman detonations, which will extend your bow usage through all her phases.

With this build, I was able to more consistently get through her phase 2 and eventually beat her phase 3. The play style is to keep parrying everything, land talisman explosions and then use your bow to deal damage and stun her. Hope this helps.

I used pretty much same jade build but instead reciprocation jade I used the one that gives you one time revive as a safety net because of her red orb attack hitting like truck and having same wind-up as talisman attack which you may confuse in heat of battle and not react accordingly.

I found the talisman with delayed explosion (water flow was it's name I think) more useful for defensive play as after her dash-slash you can put one on her to trigger internal damage while also hitting her with your normal attack to patch up some of yours internal damage.

Also I used the bow with seeking arrows to remove a chunk of her 3rd phase HP because the less time you spend in it the less opportunities for you to get overwhelmed.

Here is an alternative build to try since I used a different build to beat Eigong. (Pretty much work elsewhere too)

1. Talisman : Water Flow Talisman

I use this talisman as for me the delay for detonation always puts me in danger if Eigong decides to attack more during talisman. Removing detonation removes the danger. Plus After attaching talisman to Eigong ,you can also attack Eigong for few more times since you dont need to detonate it. (This window only exist for the jade build below)

2. Jades

  • Hedgehog Jade : Same as the post above ,you parry a lot when fighting Eigong ,so the accumulated damage when detonating with talisman is huge
  • Qi Blade Jade : This jade consumes 2 Qi charge on 3rd attack. with eigong combo you constantly have full 5 charge qi. Using the swift jade blade you can use this advantage with utmost efficiency to deal damage
  • Swift Blade Jade : This jade is a double edge sword. You on one hand attack faster but also takes internal damage. but this can be mitigated with next jade.
  • Breather Jade : This jade cancels out the Swift blade jade downside, plus if you are not able to do precise parry to eigong ,this jade can heal you up nicely ,plus with the speed of swift jade blade, the damage done is not a joke too.

This build doesnt really make use of the azure bow much ,the azure bow is really for emergency ,such as out of position breather or when you want to heal.

personally i use the water flow talisman, with the hedgehog jade, iron skin jade, Reciprocation Jade, and the breather jade, this allows you to build up on internal damage on her, and detonate a talisman to deal huge damage to her, by using the water flow talisman, you lower the risk that it will get interrupted

basically this is a very defensive build based on endurance and huge low risk attacks built up over time

the bow is usually used for emergency, if you need to heal in a pinch or during final phase to prevent the harder attacks from starting

Here's my loadout
1. Talisman : Water Flow Talisman
it is very convenient, i don't have to hold F
2. Jades
- Qi blade jade: i've already max out my skill tree so water flow only takes one charge, so the i have plenty of charges left to do this
- Hedgehog Jade: pretty much everyone has talked about this
- Divine hand jade: very usefull for her attack in phase 2 and 3 where she does that red slash attack. So basically u can just unbounded counter that whole attack sequence and deals alot of internal damage
- the last one is a jade of ur choice, i prefer quick dose jade for faster heal

If you stay on her, it's possible to dodge the red/white/white/red wave attack she opens her 2nd phase with. You dash over her or through her and can either parry or dash through the two white waves again. If you do that, her attack changes and instead of the 4th red wave, she does the dash with delayed hits where she used to be. Her third phase is a reaction test on steroids, the way she can randomly mix everything is brutal because you have to unlearn some of the patterns you learned from her 2nd phase. When I saw her 3rd phase I thought wow this is insane, truly an anime fight.
I got 2 loadouts here:
Loadout 1: First playthrough
1. Talisman: Full control
Lots of damage, stuns the boss, very satisfying when you detonate. There's plenty of room to detonate it once you learn the boss patterns but it's very unforgiving, especially in phase 2 with the wake up delayed slashes that she does. This downside is negated with steely jade.
2. Jades:
- Steely Jade: Mentioned above. Also good for getting some extra internal damage which will be good for:
- Reciprocation Jade: 85 damage per unbound counter and heals you too. You can get from 1 health to full with the help of the next jade:
- Divine hand: 135 damage per unbound counter with the leverage skill. 220 with reciprocation if you have the internal damage to boot. A lot of places where you would want to unbound counter multiple times in a row.
- Swift blade: Fast slashing go zoom. Would also contribute to internal damage if not for:
- Breather Jade: Heals. Could also do Last stand but it's a little risky. Reciprocation and precise parries can definitely sustain you though.

Build 2: Hitless and no fire damage
1. Talisman: Water flow
Risk free, allows you to control your character while it's detonating so you get extra damage in with your blade.
2. Jades:
- Qi swipe: More qi, we do not care about the downside since we're doing it hitless. We'll be needing the extra qi for:
- Qi blade: Good damage (200 for every third hit) and you don't need to get close. You won't have much time to hit this unless you have:
- Swift blade: Swift blade. We don't care about the downside. People sleep on this but it's extremely fast.
- Last stand: Extra 20% damage on basically everything. Reciprocation or Divine Hand might have been better, I'm not sure, but it's still pretty good and gives you the adrenaline rush.

I don't use the bow that much (or at all for the hitless run) but Cloud piercer for the stun and homing arrows for the damage are all good choices. You can also change them mid fight so don't worry too much.
