I seen people play Phase 2 that's gonna be fun.
That seems... like a bad idea. I bet a lot of people are going to just recycle it without realizing it, cause there are several other items that only exist to be recycled so it won't stick out.
These are the devs that made the achievement be for fighting the weaker fight instead of the stronger fight so it's kind of in line with a slightly strange way of thinking I suppose.
I imagine it's just meant as an "extra reward" for people that don't use it, kinda.
yi-brained response
Yeah, that was my original post's point. Even the "hard mode" for him is super easy. It's just a bummer that now there are 2 ways for people to miss the achievement.
If you fight the "hard mode" of him you don't get it, and now if you aren't paying enough attention you miss it. Just a bit of a bummer that could be easily avoided by the devs.
Keep a save backup if you want to face the 100% Jie, but don't want to replay the whole game for the achievement to poison the ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
In my case, I fought Jiequan with the gene eradicator and found it quite hard compared to lady Ethereal. Interesting to see how bosses are perceived differently based on taste. I also liked the mindscape platforming.
In the end I had a tough time with her (took 6 tries I think total, second most in the game) because I refused to listen to what the fight was telling me and just decided, "No, I know how to deal with this attack." (the attack where she breaks the platform) and then did the wrong thing 5 or so times in a row until I realized I just had to jump and dodge. Just one of those stupid mental barriers that gets everyone from time to time. It was still a fun fight and have some of the best visuals leading up to it and during.
The final boss is honestly the only boss in the whole game I would actually put the label of "difficult" on (I don't know the attempt count, but it took about 1 1/2 hours of tries, longer than even any Souls or Sekiro boss has ever taken me). I only used deflect and the uh... other deflect where you charge it, to do damage to her with those and then detonate that damage when it built up with a talisman. I almost never swung at her. Though even without being stubborn like that, that last boss is extremely fun and magnitudes tougher than any other boss in the game.
All that aside, most of the bosses were a good time. Though some of the mini-bosses can suck my nuts, some of those jerks were just unenjoyable/frustrating trash even when they only took 1 try I left their little fights annoyed.
In my opinion 6 tries is not a lot haha, I would say you are doing well. Jiequan took me idk, 10, maybe a few more? I hated those spikey grenades.
