Lady Ethereal is complete BULL
This boss fight is a just joke. One then three and then FIVE rapidly spawning enemies, and you can't even tell which one you're supposed to be focusing on? The parry windows are so narrow, and the damage is completely unfair. Sorry this isn't a challenge, it's just torture. The player needs at least some indication of where she's going to spawn, the screen is just filled with damage sources.

I'm glad I disliked the game hours ago, this is just where I put it down. Makes me regret crowdfunding the game years ago. It's been a nightmare of bad pacing and cheapness. Enemy attacks are too fast and track way too efficiently. The variety of the player's attacks is pointless when you can't even tell where your target is. So disappointed in this game

Pretty sure you can find some boss fight video on youtube including Lady Ethereal.

That shouldn't be required. It's not really that her pattern is that hard, it's just cheap. I don't see a reason to continue, especially as the level leading up to her was already dumb and cheap as well
It's ok, just move on for the next game, have fun.

Hm you still use starting talisman? Do they do that much more damage? I prefer Water flow because it allows to dodge/parry or add to the damage with sword attack, instead of having to charge talisman explosion. Upgraded version that costs 1 qi can be spammed liberally.

Control talisman with 5 qi energy and skill from tree can deal her 1/4 hp bar dmg

Interesting, I'll try unlocking and practicing it, should be handy for the future boss fights

It's okay to not like a boss. It's okay to admit defeat. But saying the boss is bad and that it's the problem is just unfair to the amazing work that has gone into this game.

Can you explain what are "contrarian points"? Who gives them out, and where does one redeem them? Oh, and I don't care what you think is or isn't okay

Contrarian points are mental currency you try to award yourself for your "independent opinion" and "not doing same thing masses do". In other words, TakeMyLunch says you're trying to boost your ego by pushing your own, different opinion and trying to prove it the correct one.

I myself am not so sure, your thread looks more like trying to regain your sanity complaining about a moderate challenge you can't overcome, while trying to cover your ego by "this challenge is too cheap" excuse. Imo merely gitting gud and beating the boss would be faster and less mentally exhaustive and take less time than this.

Why this topic exist, if i may ask. You can see that vast majority loves this boss, byt you had to make your own topic to prove that everyone ate wrong?

Also what metroidvania is good according to you. Picking hollow knight wont count because it is obvious pick for almost everyone.

Did you learn English from a drunk? I don't care what anyone else thinks about a boss fight, I'm only stating what I think

As a matter of fact, I don't like Hollow Knight at all. In that case it's not difficulty that's the problem, but rather the aimless length of the game and the lack of story. I was bored to tears throughout and only finished it hoping there'd be some point to it all. There wasn't.

Good metroidvanias of course include the two prototypes: Super Metroid and Castlevania: SotN. More recent examples are Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night & Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth. But it doesn't matter what genre, a cheap game is a cheap game. Nine Sols is cheap

Who or what is TakeMyLunch? Nevermind, I don't care.

So in your view, no one can ever disagree with the majority opinion on any subject except through dishonestly wishing to boost their own ego by awarding themselves "contrarian points." Christ, what an idiot. The only upside to kids today is that you're gonna ♥♥♥♥ everything up and starve to death

I used the quick charge attack jade, quick healing pipe jade.. Still I lost quite many

Phase 1 easy
Phase 2 charge and attack quickly, parry and basic attack + talisman
Phase 3 here you only parry then basic attack + talisman. Also if she uses her ultimate attack, parry the illusions on either side, then dash out, and back in the middle by using talisman, basic attack and talisman again, this style should reduce her life by 1/5. I hope this help you guys

lol you haven't even played the game, troll

Not gonna sugarcoat it :

1. The game is tagged difficult + souls like so no need to act surprised (spending hours on a major boss is to be expected of literally any souls game).
2. Parry is literally the core of the game (its stated on the nine sols page), so it's all about learning how to parry n all.
3. There's a story mode so you can still finish the game.
4. You can tell wich one is the real one in phase 2 by just hitting them after a parry and in phase 3 she's literally visible when she attack (just dodge/parry depending of the attack and rush her) + For phase 3 just use cloud piercer whenever she appears thats free damage and a stun lol

Finally, i get that the game is difficult etc but maybe look at others playthrough/ test to have an idea of the game first and when the game is tagged difficult + souls like you should expect the bosses to not be a walk in the park.

Ah you have already forgotten who you have quoted previously. So while you care about telling others your opinion, you don't even care about memorizing your own replies. It appears this is your tactic: spewing words like trash and hoping to overflow any opponent under the mass. Alas, this instead demonstrates to everyone your opinion is indeed worthless – even for yourself.
So in your view, no one can ever disagree with the majority opinion on any subject except through dishonestly wishing to boost their own ego by awarding themselves "contrarian points." Christ, what an idiot.
This is what you say here. You try to to define anything remotely opposing yourself as a "barrier" you "overcome" by "disagreeing" (spewing nonsense until you're last man talking). Was the boss hurting you the excuse to spew on someone?

So you even have known in advance the similar game might be what you like. You bought Nine Sols without thinking, got into moderately difficult fight and immediately started complaining. I guess it's just your lifestyle: walk without looking and the trash talk on everyone in vicinity whenever you hit something. Alas, from this grows your own defeat in each and every discussion. Some will at first sympathize the side you initially chose ("boss is too hard") but none will sympathize you.

I've come to realization that quick pipe jade is actually not important in this specific boss fight; phase 3 attack series are too frequent to heal effectively (and in phase 2 you should attack not heal) but between attack series you get large time window to heal even without jade.
So, instead I've used "some of damage taken is internal" jade (from one of living weapon quests, conveniently unlocked and done just after first few Lady Ethereal attempts) plus "hit with sword to heal internal damage", this allows to last much longer. Last two slots were filled w autorevive so I don't die to sudden several mistakes in a row.

No, you may not. I've been playing and completing games since 1986. I don't need any type of preparation or introduction to metroidvanias; I actually played the games the genre takes its name from. Nine Sols is cheap, and it's not worth my time to overcome this cheap boss just to encounter the next cheap boss or suffer through all the other problems the game has
oki, well put it down then and move on to whatever's next in your life. No need to linger on things that don't work for you.

Hmm, it's hard to decipher your meaning from your terrible English but since I didn't say any of that I assume you just don't comprehend me to begin with. Maybe if you play the game you'll understand, but you won't know until you stop trolling and play it for yourself
