In-game Chinese (?) speech
Just bought this yesterday and loving it so far, despite dying over and over due to not normally being much of a Souls-like player.

I'm mildly curious if the in-game snippets of speech are actual Chinese of some variety. I know it's not Mandarin, having studied that a bit, but some of it sounds sort of like Cantonese. Or is it simply like the Chinese equivalent of Simlish – i.e., it *sounds* sort of like the language, but is meaningless gibberish？

The latter wouldn't surprise since the setting is pretty much fantasy space China with furries (lol), so you could just think of it as an alien language. Just curious, anyway.

The dev and the voice actor explained that this is a self-made language that imitates the ancient Chinese accent.

You can google "上古漢語" to hear some examples.
