Apeman Facility map chip
I'm roughly 15 hours in and have cleared up a good chunk of the map, but I have yet to find the map chip to get the detailed map of the Apeman Facility. I've gotten the chips for every area around it, however.

Is the chip accessible at this point and I just missed it, or do I have to wait until some later point in the game to get it?

I just beat the fourth (I think) major boss, in the Factory area.

What do the map chips do? I just got a map chip for the mine, but I don't know how to enable or activate it

Repair the robot at the pavilion and give it to him, You get detailed map!
