Should I use a controller?

Hi, Haven't played the game yet but what should I use for the game play? Stick too keyboard or use a controller?

The game recommends controller on startup.
That said I have not tried with KB,

I complete the whole game with kb + mouse for multiple times. No problem at all for me.

i always use a controller for metroidvanias and 3rd person shooters/action games tbh. just feels way better

m/kb is for fps, moba, etc.

Is hard to give an exact answer for this question because different player will face different challenges and I cant tell how long peoples get stuck with boss fights.
But I can let you know my play though. My first run is about 24 hours, and my fastest speed run is about 8 hours 15 mins. If you are aiming for full achievement, you gonna need to do at least two runs.

About 20~30 hrs for a average-to-high skilled player.

Hum... This is all about what your personal taste or what you used to play. You know that yourself better than anyone, right?

If the question is about functionality, they performed the same. I would say the control is simple and oversimplified...

Controller can be a bit better depending on whether your mouse has extra buttons. You need easy access to about 4 or 5 inputs other than WASD. LMB and RMB, Space, Shift, and Q/E/F can probably cover your needs but it's nice to have Bumpers/Triggers. It's by no means mandatory, so just go with what you feel most comfortable with.

IMO you should get a controller cuz the keyboard/mouse combination won't give you the game rumble/vibration experience.
