Stuck in area where you fight Baichang?

Loving the game so far, but right now I'm in the Apeman facility and just beat the miniboss elite. The room he was defending has an elevator, but all the floors are locked. There is an eastern exit, but the door is closed. The passage in the west is a death pit with no clearway to cross safely, and the vent you entered the area from above with is too high up to climb back up.
These are all the exits I can find, and I don't know how to leave without dying and leaving behind all my drops. Anyone out there who can lend a helping hand?

My mistake, I didn't see the top floor of the elevator was unlocked. Oops.

Ran into the same issue lol. The blue color made me think it was the title of the building.

Nah you're not stupid, I've beaten the game 7 times and I still sometimes don't see the top floor option because of the font and colour choice, I just select it from muscle memory at this point! Glad you found it though, game's amazing and I hope you really enjoy your time with it
