Crimson Abyss deserves cooler monsters. Weird flesh worms or something I don't know, it seemed to be one of the lesser varied monster areas despite being one of the coolest zones. Multitudes and Flesh Golems are a little too similar so really I consider them nearly the same enemy type.
Bone Golems in the mountains are also pretty cool.
This Wisp Man is really eerie. Something about it is so cool and frightening. When i first encountered him, i was awestruck and felt unsafe. His slow movement and "after images" really set him apart from anything i've encountered.
Drekavac is the highlight, its unique mechanic is just so interesting. And you can detect them by sound and seeing the footprints, so they are challenging but not annoying to hunt.
Colossal Wraith is easily the coolest of the golems. Fits the look and the theme of the region perfectly.
The gowrow gimmick is also cool and thematic. I don't care for its reuse on the bunyip though, the bunyip has no reason to cloak itself in darkness.
Huay Chivo doesn't have a gimmick but in a zone where everything else has one that stands out. They look really cool and have the stats to back it up, so they actually are as imposing in gameplay as they look.
I missed the screechers entirely, but that might have just been due to the "apotheosis of the skeletons" bug that's been fixed since.
The Lurker was cool the first time I encountered it, but the effect is lost when you can see it wandering around from a distance and give it a wide berth. I feel it would give it far better chances of getting the drop on me if it stayed still until I get into its detection range, making them harder to spot from a distance.
I agree that the Crimson Ravine enemies are a little underwhelming. The zone is so striking visually, but the only memorable creature in there is those squid things. Everything else looks and behaves in ways the player has seen before. It would be really nice to add one more enemy type there, something weird and fleshy. Or maybe just give A-Mi-Kuk a unique gimmick to make it more memorable.
A-Mi-Kuk does spawn smaller creatures until you kill it but I do think it's valid that it doesn't stand out as much as some of the others.
Great thoughts! Thanks!
