Where the hell are the fire arrows?

I keep collecting increases to my fire arrow inventory, but all I have are wood arrows. I'm in the swamps already. Did I miss something in the forest or do I just need to keep going?

So, I have to make the assumption that the sun rises in the east in this world and sets in the west, because I haven't found a compass and I don't think I'm going to.

The first portal you come to, you come from the cave to the north going south. Directly south from there is the second portal location, where you'd have found the motion sensor tattoo.

To the west from there, and around one of the mountains is a tower fire shrine.

That's where I found them.

It's literally the first upgrade in the whole game. how tf did you miss it bro?

Yeah it's right before you go down the path to the large valley. It is also near where the demo ended.

If you've ended up in the valley below, you've gone too far.

Look for huge towers or structures, these tend to be weapon unlocks.

Look for the bonfires the arrows are around there,

Haha yeah that's fair. If you missed it, there's not a great reason to head back there unless you're going to get revenge on the Elder Horned Beast. I'm going to see if I can tweak it to be a bit more obvious. I have it on my list.

I think I was following the big green glowing column as the suggestion as to where to head and I blew past where the fire arrows are. I didn't watch the youtube demo so had no idea where to look. I do like the idea of having to search for these things, but maybe they could use a subtle hint as to their direction.

I should say I have noticed the crows, but those seem to point to a wide variety of points of interest. The weapon upgrades could maybe use something on the ground as you get closer

Just like I plan to tweak the path from the swamp to the third region since some people try to go STRAIGHT to it and you have to go around through the forest. :)

I did find them eventually, but I think the glowing green column (which isn't a bad idea) sends people into a specific direction and the tower is up a steep hill so it's kind out of line of sight. Not sure how easy it is to do with the assets you're working with but it would be cool if there were carvings on the trees or something pointing in the right direction. Kind of like in the show Yellowjackets (which if you haven't watched you should! The vibe is very similar to this game)

Yeah I think I'll be able to add more stuff to the world to lead the player to it easily enough.

And funny you mention that, I just finished Season 2 of that about a day ago. Great show! Very much my jam. :)

I completely missed it too. I've gotten as far as the desert now. Obviously I've been running from the walking trees like there's no tomorrow.

That's what happened to me. I just went for the Big Green Pillar of Light in the Sky. I thought, hey, something cool like a Fire Arrow might be there. Nope. I kept thinking, well it HAS to be the next one and kept going.

Is the desert connected to the forest, or some other zone? I haven't been able to find it.

It's off of the Darkness zone.

And btw I just now finished adjusting the Fire Arrow location. If someone misses it now, uh, well, yeah, it'd be a lot harder. :)

There's some pretty obvious landmarks now that lead you there, both small and large. Also some of the sight lines have been cleared of a few trees.
