Maybe the game was supposed to be a halloween joke.
...I think this game is HAUNTED :)
Just an example, for the clock puzzle, did you notice the walls had some weird drawing on them? They might look runes, but these are 00:00
Puzzle I didn´t like was to use american date format... makes no sense to use first the month, then the day, but that´s a different topic that goes to nowhere.
When you get the gun and shoot your way through dozens of useless enemies, an ammo crate appears every 5 meters and they are all the same asset...
Also, the phone calls with Martha, wtf... There are long ways where you run during the phone calls, just to run into enemies and you can do absolutely nothing, because the controls are locked during the call. xD
How can you release a game like this for 30 dollars?
Many people are discovering new bugs.
Scary events are happening randomly.
I really can't believe Devs did a playtest.
This game feels like it was only like 30% finished, then rushed very suddenly. My guess is the devs or the publishers ran out of money very quickly, or unexpectedly, and were like "FINISH IT NOW! IT NEEDS TO COME OUT BEFORE HALLOWEEN!" and this is the end result. And in this scramble they either used A.I. to finish a lot of the work, or simply slapped the unfinished mess together despite the fact that nothing really made sense in this half done state, and shipped it
Some of this game feels far more finished than other parts. The graphics for instance, when not being marred by the buggy, flickering, glitchy mess of this half completed game engine, look pretty decent. At least the character models and house (I didn't make it much farther than that before refunding) look competently done. Everything else though, just falls apart at the seams. This was not a finished game
To be honest, everything else was so buggy, unnatural, and unintentionally unnerving about this barely functioning game, that I didn't even try to pay attention to things like the runes on the walls (that yes, in retrospect I did notice but it didn't register) because i wasn't even sure what was intentional or not. Like, when a game is barely held together with glue, and nothing seems finished, it just doesn't even register to look for logic
Though, I also ended up just powering through each puzzle. I randomly tried midnight, i hit the functioning keys until it worked, and I figured out the block puzzle pretty quickly just by solving the first couple three letter words. When you can easily solve every puzzle using none of the clues, those are some basic ass puzzles, lol

I did not purchase this game as an early access or beta tester...
feels sad man...
Of course, they don't look any worse than the player models for labyrinthine, who also have that weird, drunk who's lost a bet, 1000 yard stare :)
The spinning log traps looked cool at least
It's also hilarious to see my girlfriend on top of trash cans and drums every time a cutscene ends.
Running away from an enemy, I got pulled into a wormhole.
There are still many new bugs to be discovered.
How long do you think it will take to fix these?
That actually makes it sound cooler, somehow. In fact, after reading the rest of your post about wormholes, teleporting trashcan girlfriends, and recalling myself being drug across the floor randomly screaming, only to then be fine, like it never happened...honestly... i'm starting to wonder if we are looking at this the wrong way. I'm starting to wonder if this game isn't so bizarre because it was rushed and made poorly.... I think it's HAUNTED
It's made up of the dead, reanimated pieces of other games, and probably powered by orphan hearts, and definitely was created using a dark ritual, and it only feels so off because it's running on some sort of script downloaded from a server in HELL
Perhaps part of the fun with all of this is creating your own scary horror story to justify spending $30
So I mean...I suppose I could make this game work as well. But I dunno... I might have to just keep refunding after, like 2 hours and buy it 18 times
There are many out of place scenes and lines, but one for example was when the protag is pleasantly surprised with birthday fireworks, only moments after fighting for his life against unexplained demonic creatures. "GEE THANKS, SIS. WHAT AN AWESOME BDAY IM HAVING!"
It's like the characters aren't aware of how dire their situation is at all.
Which doesn't help with the horrific atmosphere.
