What is with this difficulty jump? Every mission leading up was easy or moderate and than the devs decided "alright now for the boss of this arena make him have a 40 foot reach, can stun lock you and kill you in 4 hits, oh and don't forget to make the arena only slightly bigger than his reach. P.S. give him homing darts as well".

The Arena is brutal. I won't go back until I'm near max in everything. I'm only around level 40 and it's not nearly enough. Higher sword, higher gun, higher armor... all of it.

Ya and thats the silly thing is I think it's silly to have to go max level to fight him cause he is only the final boss of the first of 3 big areas.

Necro because ♥♥♥♥ this garbage boss. What were they thinking? I'd like to progress in the dungeons but everything else is locked until I somehow manage to defeat a dude that's incredibly OP on Legend. So much so that the amount of grind that will be necessary here will obviously be enough that I'll just let this mode rot and focus on just finishing the story instead.

It's like the game is good but there are certain parts of it that massively lack balancing. The same goes for the arena that for some reason turns your troopers and inventory off while also fails to give a health refill after combat encounters... what a "remake" lol.
I got to this guy when I was pretty weak. He was completely destroying me then I used the essence of firestorm ability that one of the free DLC troopers gives you. It did a bunch of continuous damage from its beam and basically killed him with one shot, even though he still had a bunch of armor.

Not really sure how the hell that happened. When I've tried using essence of firestorm against other enemies it only hits them once and does like 200 damage to them. Weird.

This happened to me too. Maybe he was weak to fire or something like that? I defeated him with just one single firestorm on Legend difficulty.
