Best way to farm money?
So, now, after the free chicken race betting was fixed, how does one quickly get the absurd amount of money required to complete crafting (especially the getting seals part)?

The legit chicken racing has goot an abysmal RNG, with stats heaving pretty much zero meaning and no effect on the outcome.
For some reason I just spent about 6 hours trying to bet legitimately, and ended up winning a grand total of 4 or 5 times.
So I'm at the edge of insanity, and have no idea what method to use now.

Hundred men knockout arena seems to be the most reliable option, consistently netting 5 ryo in 5 minutes. But it's still a pitiful amount.

Are there any better ideas?

Get 1 good weapon and do stronghold missions is a good way because you need to farm that place a lot anyway if you are going 100%.

Yeah, pretty much what I ended up doing.
Additionally, various high tier loot fetches a good selling price.

They fixed the chicken races? Seriously? Glad I'm never touching this game again. Unless they somehow fixed everything else wrong with completion in this game.

As for how to get money, unless the mods on Nexus don't work anymore since the patch, I'd use them. Late in the game you mostly need money just for completion, and late in the game is when I installed mods to up the drop rate to 100%, put seals in lidded jars, and make dungeon money rewards 10x their original value. And the grind still nearly drove me insane and gave me a tendon injury that whilst going away, has been with me for more than a week after playing.

Oh, and before installing those mods, once I did everything on the farm, I just had ginseng going at all times. Any time it was done, I grabbed the batch of like 75 and sold them for 25 ryo. It was good for a while but the mods put in perspective just how dumb the whole thing is. If I have to grind the final dungeon like 100 times for crafting completion, least you can do is pay me enough to do the crafting.

Can agree that the game got way to much grind for especially the best weapon and then nothing to use them on once done except maybe Amon.
Yakuza 7: Like a dragon at least had true milennium tower.

Funny thing is I didn't really find 7 overly grindy at all. It was a good balance. The dungeons were fun, most especially the tower, and they all felt really different, and I didn't have to do them anywhere near what I had to do in this game, and that's with the 100% drop rate mod I mentioned, leading to anywhere between 1 and 5 of the nearly 100 materials you need just for the final sword (you need 20 each for the sword but after that you need about 5 more of each for other stuff).

Contrast that with other people without the mod getting sometimes as low as 1 material per 30 runs. Seriously just borderline abusive, and if it was conscious to prolong play time artificially, then it was abusive.

By the way, the seals grind in the original game was completely different. If a seal turned up at all, that was completion. If you wanted to use it on a different weapon, you 'sacrificed' the old weapon to the new weapon, and the results were based on a mini-game you actually played, not the (un)mercy of RNG.

Ishin is a good game at its core, but in dire need of such an overhaul that it's ironically tantamount to a remake what it needs. If playtime was a concern compared to the rest of the series, it should have been a gaiden and advertised honestly as such. This is absurd.

Oh, and don't get me started on the 'bonds' in this game. Playing Judgement right now, and that's exactly how they should have been in this game. All repetitive interactions are removed if you feel like buying x amount of stuff all at once or whatever, among other things. It makes the bonds actually fun instead of a slog.

Ye its not that bad but it can have some grindy stuff to get the best gear if you want it in Y7.
Its not needed tough for 100%.
Instead of repetive grind ishin's best sword should need stuff obtained from challenges.

I think you must be doing things wrong, because the stats for Chicken racing are absolutely essential to netting you wins. I usually win 2/3 of my bets.

Look at the past records and see what type of races the chickens did well in, and what their conditions were when they ranked high. Some chickens are better at marathons, while others are better at short sprints. Take into account all the information provided and make an educated bet on which one's gonna win.
For example, if you see a chicken that got 2nd or 3rd place with poor condition in a long race, and your next race is another long race and they now have higher condition, there is a very good chance they're going to win next.

I also hope you're using the dividend page the place as many bets as possible to maximize winnings.

Chicken Racing is without a question the fastest and easiest way to earn money, But if you can't figure that out, then buy a ton of manure, and walk in and out of your house to fertilise your Ginseng fields.

If you want the best gear, it's still nowhere near the grind of Ishin, though. If you wanted to max every weapon in the game maybe it's comparable, but just one per character is nowhere near this bad.

I'll tell you what I thought was unreasonable in 7 and that's those stupid plants. Ishin's planting is quite a bit better but the rest of the grindy elements overshadow that by a wide margin unfortunately.

I've done my homework studying guides to get a hold on what's supposed to be going on.
But after seeing statistically as perfect chicken as it could be snailing dead last from start to finish, I've got my will to deal with this nonsense irreversibly crushed.

These are the mods I mentioned. If you're worried about it not being 'hard' enough, or more accurately, not annoying and time-consuming enough, you shouldn't be, because it's still extremely unreasonable.
