Need help with a revelation

So the book says to keep doing the war cry counter or whatever its called but instead of getting the revelation he just keeps doing the backwards throw heat attack. Am I doing something wrong?

I had to attempt that with no heat gauge to prevent the back throw heat action from happening. Go in with empty heat gauge and just keep doing the war cry counter.

And how often do I need to do that? It feels like I used the counter about 50 times already in just one encounter.

I lost count on how many counters it took honestly.

Not sure if it matters but I did maintain lock on and was at a distance after the war cry counter evade.

Punch enemy at least once after war cry counter while you are in "invincibility" state. Works for me.

you get a longer war cry invincible state the later you do a counter. You'll know when you do the war cry counter because it's kind of a long punch. It should only take about 10 for each of these revelations but it won't count if it's not done right. the other evasion ones as well, like Gust for Gunman. You have to actually evade a strike for it to count which can be very hard.

For the sword block parry one, i swear i've been doing a bunch but it doesn't seem to proc is it pure RNG?

the revelations require you do a specific move to unlock a heat action. You need to read what that heat action is to actually use it. Some are wildly different. Like the brawler one discussed here. the revelation is the war cry counter but the heat action is to hold RB on a far away target and hit Y (or whatever this is on keyboard).

Phew, finally did it. Revelations in this game can really be a pain in the ass. The only one left after the war cry counter one was the break enemies guards and that also was very annoying but managed to do it after many many tries. Now my only problem is actually using essence of mincemeat in battle. ^^;

I really hope the unlocked skills carry over in NG+ like in all the other Yakuza/Like a Dragon games, because I definitely don't want to do that stuff again.
