Why those games almost always in Japanese dub only?
Is there some logical explanation why they keep doing it? Wanting try out those games, but no eng dub always push me away.

And don't forget when they sorely mispronounce said things too. Even if it is an accepted alternative pronunciation, when you've got two people talking to each other about the same thing and the word in question changes depending on who is speaking even though it is a place name or a character name...

Just for the record, I prefer subs myself. That said, I mean... my preference here is irrelevant so...

Your preference is English dub. As far as that goes, I can only guess as to why they didn't dub. My guess is that it costs them extra money and they probably didn't think spending it would help them increase game sales enough to justify it for them.

That said? They did it for both Judgment games and Y:LaD. Going off of that, I would've guessed they'd add an English dub for this one too but apparently not. So, perhaps they thought it was worth it for those games but not for a remaster of a PS3 game?

Whatever the case, they didn't dub it this time around. Maybe they will if enough people ask for it? Otherwise, I guess you'll just have to skip this one or deal. I'm assuming LaD 8 and onwards will be dubbed. For now, you still have the games they have dubbed that you can check out, if you're interested.

If you decide to jump into this series, I hope you enjoy them as much as many of us seem to. Enjoy your day!

My guess is that because Ishin is squarely a very Japanese experience, based on real Japanese history (albeit with a heavy dose of creative liberty), most people who aren't into that sort of thing won't be buying it to begin with
Idk in most games I'd agree but in Yakuza especially anything but Japanese would just sound wrong to me the voices just match and the way words sound in Japanese just sound great. Like the yells before a big fight in the story sound just so right in Japanese but in English I think it'd be very strange to me

Time and money. It takes more time and more money.

Imagine wanting to hear Japanese Samurai in the 19th century in Kyoto to speak English in American accent.

Can be an option to switch languages, am not here some yakuza simulator bruh. Those that prefer read subs can do so and immerse into yakuza life if that makes them happy.

The Yakuza series is possibly the most Japanese of Japanese games. They celebrate everything great, terrible, and wacky about Japanese culture. To play these games in anything but the original Japanese language is doing them a disservice.

The difference between this and judgement/LAD though is that this one has a lot of characters who do not have dubbed voices in the main series at all, whereas LAD and Judgement were almost entirely a brand new cast of characters for their respective games. They might have an actor on hand for kiryu, but they dont necessarily have one on hand for someone like Akiyama.

The thing is, dubs cost money, and you cant just take some random cheap va and call it a day. Ishin wasnt even meant to come to the west, so theres no point in adding a dub.
Again, reading is good for the brain. Im sorry but if you dont want to read then the yakuza series isnt for you.
Maybe try gta or mafia instead.

Here are the most plausible reasons:
- Dub cost money, imagine doubling or even more your budget for voice acting if you want great English voice acting. Also games from Japan usually have much lower budget than games developed in the West.
- Yakuza has never been popular in the western world before Yakuza 0, and before Judgement iirc, only the first Yakuza received a full english dub treatment and it was so bad, it's still being memed to this day. And it might be funny now but at the time of release, it was heavily criticized. Both of these reasons contributed to why they don't even bother doing eng dub for any localized game until Judgement iirc.
- Judgement, Yakuza 7 and Lost judgement are completely new games developed after the success of Yakuza 0. Given the rise in popularity of the series, RGG tried eng dubbing again, and they definitely have more budget than ever before to further push the series to the western market. Reason why Yakuza 6, despite also being a new entry after the success of 0. doesn't received eng dub might be because of most of the budget and development time was put into the new engine. Games after yakuza 0 like kiwami 1 & 2, remaster of 3, 4 and 5 and this game, don't have eng dub is because they are re-release, and they definitely don't want and it would be stupid as hell, to put the similar budget (voice acting and localization) of developing a brand new game into them. LAD: Gaiden and LAD 8 are in development at the moment, they would definitely focus the budget on those games instead when it comes to the inclusion of eng dub.

This game was never gonna get a localized release if not for the success of Ghost of Tsushima as they used to say in interview before GoT is basically no one in the West would care about a samurai game based on 19th century Japan history. More reasons to not gonna spend too much time and budget on this re-release that might be bombed.

And remember they failed once when trying to appeal to the western audience with Yakuza: Dead Soul - a zombie game in the Yakuza universe. That game almost make the whole series to disappear from the west if yakuza 0 didn't success like it did.
