Why did they decide to not support Ultrawide for this game?
All the previous titles supported UWD IIRC, so it kinda feels like a major step back to just drop it.

Please patch it in soon.

The PAKs folder contains 3 files that you can copy into your steamapps\common\LikeADragonIshin\LikeaDragonIshin\Content\Paks directory. This will remove the borders so that you can see the cut off text/graphics such as names and the minigame stuff, but it will not fix the 3D cutscenes/gameplay only rendering to 16:9.

If you want to work on this yourself, download Unreal 4.27.2 and create a new project following the link below, and then copy the whole "Projects" folder to your Unreal Project (under UnrealAssets\Content in the Google Drive). Ignore the modelling stuff but do the reset of the steps on the "Creating an asset replacement mod" page in See also.

For reference, I created an empty texture and linked that to a translucent material, and renamed all the assets so they would override the originals.

I'm a couple of minutes in and there's a cutscene where part of the introduction text is cut off by the left side blocking bar. This needs to be fixed.

Yeah, massive disappointment. I don't understand how we still get non-indie games without ultrawide support in 2023.

I was thinking of buying the deluxe edition, but until there is a fix I forget about it.

I really hope they patch it in, kind of ridiculous that now suddenly we aren't getting it even though all previous pc ports do have it.

Came here to post about it. Gonna be the third game i'll have to refund this week... Wild Hearts, Wanted:Dead & now Ishin all lacking in terms of PC ports. What a joke.

Yeah this is super disappointing - have they mentioned whether or not they're going to patch it? I've also never understood why they add letterbox art to the sides, like if you're not going to support it out the box, please just leave it black. Or give us the option.

its due to Epic Games ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up UE4 default settings which can apparently be somewhat easily fixed by the developers or take hours to do by a community modder, I don't get why they haven't fixed this.

It's 100% got something to do with the Unreal Engine. Hopefully somebody will fix it and RGG will stay tf away from this engine in the future. Otherwise, besides the Playstation prompts BS the game has been fantastic!

I cant even play the singing minigame because half of the notes are left outside at the bar. This really needs a fix.

OK yeah, this is ridiculous. They need to roll out a fix for this soon as possible.

Yeah it sucks, per default the game choosed 3440x1440 in settings, but no UW. Besides that the game runs fine with all on max settings, no stutter or anything else

So Is it like Elden Ring where it natively supports ultrawide but they arbitrarily added the bars?

Don't hold your breath. You guys would be better off just going and using UUU to fix the game than a dev patch. Not going to buy the game myself but it's a common fix for these kind of lazy devs.
