Aye, I'm not aware of any main story boss that has a recoverable weapon and I tried on all of them using double charged deadmans.
That said, there are quite a few unique weapons you can steal, they're just not from the BBEGs.
The very first thing I do on a fresh run is get the substory 4 gauntlets so I can block blades with gunman and the second thing is to sprint over to the trainer and grab deadman's hand.
I do this so I can then steal the elemental swords from random gold sneaks.
I figured out that, based off of a DPS meter, this is the best way to get an early poverty build at the start of the game which is quite useful for Legendary/Ishin runs.
The other way was to get him into his Wild Dancer phase. (I think)
As for disarming bosses? Nope. All it does is open em up to a couple of hits. Would've been neat if you could disarm them, though if that was the case you could probably cheese every boss with it.
Also why does it take so damn long to disarm a normal enemy with Swordsman Rustling Leaves?
