if you just need one but haven't cleared scarecrow chateau much yet, extreme difficulty fight 1 guarantees a great serpent skin the first time you clear (subsequent clears only give scarecrow carvings iirc), but you'd have to clear every mission in the first 3 difficulties to unlock extreme.
they can be long and tedious... but hey, if you still need to rank up your styles, then consider it free exp to level them up.
Yep, gotta do battle dungeons.
I really want the Amon sword but F*** the material requirements. That stuff never drops. EVER.
The grind is unbearable, because they try to sell you these materials as one time use DLC. The disrespect is deliberate. And the waste of our time is built into the game itself, to force us to buy material in the shop.
My solution is, after just finding out about this, that I will just start up the cheat engine with this game as countermeasure. Even the first time I start the game. I will not run it without cheat engine in the background, to be able to give me more materials for my efforts.
With these shady methods they are just asking for this. I really hope they would just fix the drop rate in the game, so that I do not have to do this instead.
Their one time per save DLC's are already downwvoted to hell and back, so they do not even need to bother any longer trying to sell us this crap. It failed. We see what you are trying to do.
I'm glad the requirements included 5 Great Serpent Skins and only 1 rainbow shard. I had 30 shards by the end. Thank you SEGA.
What were you making? Just curious.
Regardless, the crafting grind in this game is absurd to the point where the whole system feels broken. The original version of the game didn't work like this and wasn't nearly as bad. I think this might be the first Yakuza series game I don't get all the achievements for.
Nah it's just the armor damage seal; I put a 10% bonus armor damage on my gun and it's shredding armor way easier.
Before the seal, it's basically useless to shoot an armored enemy unless you feel like spending 10 seconds shooting the same guy.
The Dragon Slayer also has bonus armor damage and it shredded only slightly worse than the Murasame I used to have.
I think armor damage seals are 10x more effective than they should be. (not complaining pls don't fix)
No ♥♥♥♥? Actually pretty interesting. Does that mean you could do battle dungeons too?
tbh, after running the entire Sanada Stronghold dungeon series and farming the last stage/boss for a bit, I had more then enough materials to craft the variant B/top-tier blacksmithing gear available at the time. I don't have variant-C unlocked yet.
Got 2 gold-tier/rank 5 swords and one gold-tier/rank 5 gun on my first playthrough by just putting in some time. Game is a cakewalk atm lol.
What I will say in regards to dungeons - the balancing/difficulty scaling in this game is egregiously bad. I have been on Normal for most of the playthrough but once I got to the 3rd Sanada Stronghold mission I was obliterated. I difficulty-scummed it and went to easy and made it a cakewalk to finish them all up. Enemies hit entirely too hard and have dump-truck loads of HP. Just isn't worth the headache. Once I got out of that hellscape I went back to normal.
TLDR; switch to easy and farm the Sanada Stronghold and you'll be set. Also, if you can, either find/craft a weapon with +% damage to armor ASAP. It will make that portion of the game exponentially easier.
