Increasing a weapon's grade?

Is it possible? I'd want to get my golden gun up to the best grade to maximise its damage.

I don't know how to do it to already made weapons. But I noticed (This does not seem to be explained anywhere) that hammers are cumulative.

So if you start with the weakest starter version, then even weak bronze hammers you can get an infinite supply of via gun dojo training 1 repeats will slowly improve the grade one step at a time.

I have not ground up improved crafting yet, so I've just got a missile cutter sword that is purple, over 420? damage, and has one spare slot instead of the default 380ish and no free slots displayed on the crafting tree. But for end of tree stuff unless it is a very short crafting build where the end point is one or two steps in, even weak hammers should get you gold, or at the very least let you save your silver and gold hammers for the last steps.

The most direct route for guns like GG is to keep stacking sphere seals on it at the blacksmith.

There are some major caveats though to increasing the DPS output of guns.

The biggest of these, as you likely know, is that special ammo does flat damage regardless of weapon.

Since a major part of your DPS isn't getting scaled, gunman builds don't benefit quite as much from upgrades as swordsman or WD's do (with the exception of elemental guns like Weeping Sakura)

That said, GG is an excellent choice in firearm due to it's 515 nat damage and the fact that it only takes about 10 minutes of the Texas Hold'Em exploit to get it near the start of the game. It's not as op as Soul Beat but, according to an actual dps meter, it's roughly on par with Vortex which means it's still crazy op.
