Tower of Repetition - Missing Gem

After the blind boy puzzle, the cutscene shows the third gem being lowered, but I couldn't find it. Any help?

I defeated the boss and found the final gem, so I have the other three, but not all of the wooden ones which need to be placed in the basement.

Leave the room where you did the puzzle and immediately head left, which heads outside. It will lead you to the puzzle piece.
