Recently bought DeathSpank won't start

Just bought DeathSpank recently but the game won't start, I try validating the game so many times and run as administrator also use all of the windows compatibility mode, it just won't start. Please help.

Same issue, I tried few months ago, game won't start. I'm guessing Nvidia driver changed or something causing it won't start.

Same here. I start the game- EA and the next screen will load and show, then it crashes back to Windows 7. AMD R9 290. I7.

Well, at least I get to the main menu. However the game always crashes after starting a new game and confirming the settings.

It gives me an APPCRASH one too.

I am trying to have it use just 1 core and I'm also trying to paste over some DirectX .dll's too in hoping to find a solution. I've been searching on Google for this now.

I'd really like to go ahead and be able to play all the games in the series, but this one is having some technical issue for many of us that I wish they'd put a little effort in to looking in to. I bet they'd find a solution and then could share it.

I have also tried changing my resolution(s) and locking out the display of my second monitor (both 1440p). I mostly have had luck with the older titles in my library, with the occasional minor fix, and hope to find a solution to this as well.

If anyone finds fix(es) please share. ;/

Update: * It's working now * I have got it working.

The only thing that seems to maybe have fixed it was having Steam validate the files. It validated and seems to have been corrected somehow. I run it as an Administrator with no compatibility modes needed or other settings used (using Win7 64). I took out the command line /affinity 1 (single core use) and it doens't seem to matter.

Once I got to the menu I set it to 1440p and I have launched and re-launched it from the folder. Seems to be solved for me by validating. Give it a try!

Mine states Missing Executable (also for Thong of Virtue)... checked folder and there is NO .EXE in there @ all...

Anyone else have this?

that's...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird. but prolly why your game won't launch. Have you tried downloading the .EXE from a crack website?

Any why should i NEED to do that? ... I purchased the game :P ... exe still missing but it doesn't say why it wont start when I try to run it today ... just does nothing

You shouldn't have to. But that's PC gaming for ya, stuff is broken sometimes and you can't do jack about it.

I suppose I could upload the .exe file for you somewhere if you need it, but it looks like validating the cashe fixes the issue for most people.
