So how hard is Survival? I'm pretty decent at stealth games and the first level on S was fine - any reloads would be on account of new game mechanics. However, I'm a bit put off by not being able to change without restarting if it is too hard.

Don't worry, if you have the experience in stealth games, you'll do just fine. It will be challenging, but you will enjoy the challenge. It's better than breezing through the normal difficulty.

So what's the difference between hard and survival.
toomanynights Jun 20, 2024 @ 4:11am
As I get it, survival is:
- randomized walking patterns for characters
- need of food
- police search system
Nothing of that in Hard, plus, if I'm not mistaken, Hard still has the OP "Deal with the devil" specialization that allows you unlimited saves.

3 saves plus the autosaves seems like plenty.

I read a post on here implying there are less perks on survival. How does difficulty impact perk points?
toomanynights Jun 20, 2024 @ 11:25pm
That I cannot tell you. I was receiving 1 perk point regularly after each mission, plus some extras.

Maybe perks cost more? Perks increase in cost after 5 bought. Does it keep increasing or is it 2 points flat after that.

It's supposed to increased to 3, but I never got enough perks for that to happen.

At the beginning of each chapter, go to "Carl", "Mary", "Dorothy" and the bartender to purchase food stamps, donate them to Albert, and earn 1 skill point every 25 stamps.

@冰zhen甜瓜 I did that. Except the very first time I have chosen to reduce police search by mistake, plus I have less money to Lucy, resulting in a loss of another point.

But at the difficulty level of survival, you can obtain a maximum of 15 skills, with an additional 2 skill points.

Could you explain to me why like I'm a 5-year-old?

But Hard doesn't work that way?

The first 5 perks are 1 point each, the next 10 perks are 2 points each, and the last opportunity for perks is 3 points each. Theoretically, there are enough bonuses and food stamps to get 31 points, enough for 17 perks. You pretty much need a perfect run to get all the points for 17 perks.

Supposedly they did some bug fix to add back some missing stamps, but I haven't completed the new version (1.16) yet to confirm.

So an average of about 3 perks per skill. That's too bad.

I still don't know what was meant by machine flip.
