GENERAL INFORMATION

What is ASCENDANT.COM?

Ascendant is a squad based FPS shooter set in a vibrant 80’s infused, retro-futuristic BioPunk world. Its gameplay is an evolution of Capture the Flag where each game is never the same. Progress your abilities, weapons and character by capturing resources, completing missions, and kicking some sweet ass. Engage in intense multiplayer (3v3v3v3 PvP) battles, navigate ever-evolving landscapes, and battle terrifying monsters that want nothing but to make you a convenient snack.

When will Ascendant release?

We plan to release it into Early Access on PC in the summer of 2024. Please keep an eye out for major announcements on our Store Page and socials!

What platforms can I play the game on?

Ascendant is PC first, with the plan to come to Xbox Series Consoles and PS5 after.
We are also working on a Mac version.

Where can I get support?

We’re active in our Steam Community Hub as well as our official Discord!

Controller Support?

At the writing of the FAQ, currently there is no controller support. We will implement controller support later this year for Xbox, Playstation, and Steam controllers.

What languages is Ascendant available in?

Currently, English only. Stay tuned for more information on local language support!

Will Ascendant be available on Steam Deck/PC Handhelds?

We are working towards Steam Deck verification. Stay tuned.

What game engine is being used?

Ascendant is using Unreal Engine 5.

GAME CONTENT INFORMATION

What is the goal of Ascendant?

Battle for biocores, capture them, and use them to ascend your character skills, loadouts, weapon blueprints, and character!

Can I create a custom character?

Yes! Ascendant boasts a rich and deep customization experience. Change everything from your character's body structure and voice, and drip your character out in a massive wardrobe! There are hundreds of customizable clothing outcomes are available, including colors, patterns, and fabric material, to make you stand out from the crowd.

What is the lore of Ascendant and how does it tie to the gameplay?

Humanity ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. Real bad. Forced climate change. Wars that led to famine, and technological experiments that created completely new ecosystems that humans cannot survive in any longer. Humanity started “Project Earthtree,” a last-ditch solution to save what remains and right what wrongs we could.

You wake up after a 1000-year stasis, forgetting who you were in your past life. All you know is that you now have to earn your keep by protecting your earthtree. Harmony used to be the top dog, full of trade, weapons, and technology - but now everyone’s disappeared. Not a single living person, dead body, or even a note. Time to make what's theirs - yours. It’s finders keepers as other earthtrees want exactly what you need. Biocores to keep their earthtree alive.

What does the progression look like?

Progression is done after each match. Players will interact with various NPCs that want 3 things from you. Missions for you to complete, favor, and biocores. There are multiple factions that will offer similar ways for you to build your reputation with them. The more biocores you donate to a faction of your choice, the more weapon attachments, skills and personalization items you’ll unlock. Once you build your rep, buy attachments and skills - build your loadout by going to various terminals around the lobby. Build the ultimate weapon of your choice, and add it to your loadout. You won’t be able to spawn with it though. You’ll need to find a store in Harmony that will print your weapon, so gather energy from around Harmony to purchase it!

Do I have to stick with one faction?

No. You can mix your faction reputation as you desire.

Is there a level cap?

There is no level cap.

What game modes will there be?

We have one game mode at the moment - Battle for The Biocores. Plus a number of fun lobby games to keep you entertained between matches, e.g. hide-and-seek, 1-1 battle arenas, time trials etc.

Will there be other maps?

We have plans for future updates, but at launch we will have one main map, Harmony.

What anti-cheat will be implemented?

Will there be future DLC and store items?

Plans for ongoing DLC and future content expansions are expected. Stay tuned for more information when we are ready to share.

Yes! We are accepting applications from creators of all sizes to apply. Applications can be submitted here.

What are the requirements to be accepted?

Show some love for our game by actively streaming it or creating content about it.
Channel must be in good standing with their platform and adhere to each platform(s) ToS.
Live Stream viewer average of 50 CCV.
