Zombieville 2 Multiplayer Problem
I have tried to connect with a friend on Zombieville 2. For some reason even though we made sure to use the correct room code we aren't able to connect to each others game. He lives in the UK and I am from the US. We have tried with 2 of out devices and we were able to connect. We also tried a VPN which didn't work. I know this isn't Zombieville 3D but we didn't know how to reach you.

The multiplayer service I used for ZV2 back in the day (called photon) was region locked - it even split the US between west and east coast servers which couldn't see each other. Sorry :(
weird im working on a old project of mine currently and i used photon 1 for my servers and they arent region locked thats a bit odd

Huh, in my experience PUN had a bunch of region-specific master servers for connecting people and they couldn't see each other. It's literally been over a decade though so I could be full of it haha.
for me there was no region lock restrictions thats a bit odd possibly because it got added later in pun classic?

My friend and I have the same problem. I'm in Asia, and he's in Canada. We were able to play together on the demo version. When we decided to buy the full game together, we hit this issue. Is there something we're missing? I'm reading region-locking so does it mean we can never play it together? How was it possible for us to play together on the demo? TIA

Yeah sorry, this was a discovery that surprised me upon release - steam's sessions are region locked by default in shipped games (but not in demos and betas).

For now, there is a workaround - you can either have one of you set your steam download region to match the other, OR someone else mentioned you can send an invite to your game through the steam overlay and even though you can't actually JOIN yet through the steam overlay, it will allow your friend's session to appear in the list inside the game once an invite has been sent.

I'm gonna try to improve this if I can.
oh yeah i was said friend in this discussion by the way we did get to play zombieville 2 coop but not in a way you would expect he connected bluestacks and his phone together for a coop game then i connected over parsec and i played bluestacks thank god he had almost perfect connection for me
