Steam Deck Issue
Last patch seemed to have caused an issue with rumble on deck. Rumble is issued to the touch pad feedback effect on my deck, rather than rumble pack. Every time I fire a gun it causes the touch pad to emit a loud rattling noise.
Tested with other games and rumble seems normal there, only seems to be a zombieville issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hm, might be an unreal bug, I’m using their standard force feedback calls. I tested it on my steam deck and it just felt kinda soft, didn’t realize it might be rumbling to wrong motors.
I'll try to test more, my deck has had some other hardware issues with the fan before but not the rumble/ haptics. A shame since I was really enjoying it on deck!

There’s an in game option to disable the rumble if you prefer (settings > gameplay).
Oh yeah, while we're talking about rumble bugs, I've noticed on my end (desktop, Dualshock 4) if I pause the game while rumble is active, it keeps going. It does pause when the window is out of focus, though.

So I did some research and… there are no dedicated “rumble pack” motors in the deck. The haptics in the pads are the only thing you get.

Perhaps my game is causing a different sound than some other games due to the exact strength being requested - I basically never request 100% strength. At least on my OLED model it doesn’t audibly rattle, it’s just kinda soft.

Interesting, I can probably fix that.
