Explain this to me like I am 5
Local Co-Op
2 Players

Online Co-Op
Not Supported

BOKURA is a puzzle adventure game that can only be played with two players. To play the game, two people must play on two separate machines.

Err, isnt that contradictory? How does this even work? So you need two copies of the game to play, but can only do so locally? Is that info just wrong?

I still don't understand. "It's not JUST locally"? Does that imply that it IS local co-op?

From what i read, it's not local at all.

It's just online co-op, correct? I only want to get the game if it's local.

Why is the description on steam page so weirdly complicated?

Can my 1 steam account, on 2 machines, that I own both, run 2 instances of this game so I can play with my wife? Without buying a second copy on a new steam account?

I have tried this with other games and can tell you for sure that the answer is NO. You need two copies, on two different steam accounts. If you try to log in to a game on the same steam account but on a different machine, you will automatically be logged out of the first machine. You will also need two copies of this game to play, that’s how it was designed. At 10-11$ dollars for two copies, it doesn’t hurt much and seems worth it if you have a friend to play with.

thank you very much for the clear and concise answer to my question! and i do agree that its not a bad price, i just really didn't want to have to set up a whole other steam account just to play 1 game...

i just dont understand, why you would set up a new account for that... is your social anxiety that hard? just get a friend to play it with that way you also can split the bill in two

Seems pretty obvious the other person doesn't have an account, doesn't want to make one since they only play the family primary account (if they even play at all). It's a bit shortsighted to not at least feature a 2-copy bundle, even if for no savings. It leaves the implication that single-copy play is at least possible, even a viable experience.

Also, don't project simplicity just because you have that friend. That was never implied, especially when OP said he didn't want to set up the account for his wife.

I'll add this is all further shortsighted because networking capabilities are blocked on Steam on any account until $5 purchased, non-gifted, which may be avoided during this Steam sale, and therefore could set up a huge collection of additional problems/annoyances. I would be curious if anybody ran into this issue.
