But, game is kinda "hard" and triky, so im not sure about kids playing it.
About "together" this will work only in 2 case's
1 playing every task and try to achieve best grade(competing)
2 playing in old way, after each fail give control to other person
In general
Yes its family friendy
Yes kids can play it
And no, its not really suited for playing together
not a sharing type game
Hey thanks for the great question!
We don't have an official age rating yet, but the game is family friendly.
With respect to your specific comments:
- The artstyle is indeed simple, welcoming and cartoony :)
- As you say, there is no gore or blood, just falling etc. with no fall damage or anything like that. Just a generic "splat" sound effect if you fall fast enough.
- The controls are actually a fairly unorthodox for both the building and the character, as the building is completely gridless, and the character is fully physics driven. So they do take a little bit of getting used to. The third person character is controllable with a controller (if you have one) which would be easy to use for a younger player, however the building would need the precision of a mouse and keyboard just now. We will be looking to make the game more controller friendly, and more intuitive as much as we can throughout the Early Access process.
- The difficulty does currently ramp up pretty quickly, but we are planning on adding a difficulty setting, that should make the game easier (like making all the connections stronger etc.) which should make it more accessible to a younger audience.
- there is no adult-oriented profanity, sexual content or anything of that nature in the game.
In terms of whether or not the game suits being played together, it's obviously a single player game - but we've found that younger kids do enjoy watching the character flop about and fall when climbing etc, so I guess it depends on the child! You could also do something along the lines of one person (parent) does the building, and another player (child) does the character platforming.
What I would say, is that we do have a free demo that does include a lot of content - so if you are interested, I would definitely recommend checking that out if you are interested!
