The movement really detracts from the game
The building mechanics intrigued me enough to wishlist this, but 5 minutes in the QWOP gimmick has already overstayed it's welcome.

Same here, tried the demo and found myself fighting and frustrated with just trying to get the character to move around, the whole building aspect part was backseat to just moving the character around. I ended up uninstalling the demo before completing it, hopefully they address this in EA.

Like I'm really not saying this is what the game actually is, but as someone who never played the demo my first impression was that this is 'funny youtuber bait', if you get what I mean. But there's clearly far more there behind that.

I think it is super funny.

Hey everyone, thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that the physics driven nature of the character is definitely different and can be awkward in order to interact physically with everything around him 😅 but we will definitely be continually improving throughout Early Access! Our first step during the beta for example was adding W to auto-walk so you can just walk with one button if you like, but we'll definitely be continuing to streamline and improve him as much as possible!

Also, we actually made all the missions involving the character technically skippable if it's not your cuppa tea! And the sandbox mode doesn't need him either if you just want to build stuff without the character.

Either way, we're still in Early Access and will be continually improving the character to minimise frustrations! Apologies for any frustrations!

The autowalk is pretty decent for now, the only time you should be using the a and d keys is when you need to move very precisely. I put quite a few hours into the demo and trust me, you'll get used to the movement if you play enough

The only problems with autowalk I've had is your character doesn't turn very easily, and it sometimes takes a little too long for your character to really get moving

Skill issue.

Yeah absolutely hate this QWOP nonesense, just make it control like a regular character please (W = move forward, A = strafe left, space to jump etc) it absolutely ruined the demo and there was no way past it. I couldnt climb the wall at step 18 because theres too many buttons and not enough explanation, just have maybe a "climb" button for if the enji is near an object, or perhaps do away with the mechanic entirely.

Was gonna buy this game, but this QWOP crap isnt for me.

I think the movement combined with the potentially shoddy engineering works really well. However, it is a bit awkward that you can't really strafe or rotate with A and D, i find that i accidentally walk off things because im not perfectly facing where i want to go. But it isn't a big deal.

I think a good medium ground for physics movement and ease of use would be something like the movement of the characters from Human: Fall Flat.

Yeah, I will definitely be addressing this and I know the root cause (increased friction on the underside of his foot to prevent slippage) but I have a good idea to get it fixed. Will be working on it ASAP as well as a raft of other updates!

We'll see what we can do to streamline the experience for people!

I think the movement's great

what are y'all yapping about, i honestly enjoy it and find it simple, i like to play without using autowalk to make it more, i dunno, i just like to
