You actually don't HAVE to talk to her about anything outside of the fight, I know, the game's clues as to what to do are obtuse as hell especially in this section... god the first game was a mess lol. Head to central Denton until you get a cutscene about the WWW operator selling a "fix" to the auto-driving bug. The plot should continue from there (you never actually meet up with Mayl until the chapter's end on this one so don't even bother trying to meet up with her. Honestly just wander until the game starts chugging the story along).
This Sections big problem is that Megaman NEVER stops saying that we should find a present for Yae even after Myu tells us that her shop is not open yet.
At that Point we would need a Line like : too bad yadda yadda let's meet with Mayl now.
