I don't know if you can get it with the B code from the chip trader. I have gotten it with A from the trader despite not already having the chip in my library. It is possible to get HeroSwrd B from the chip trader (I've gotten it 3 times) so if you're after Dropdown B because you want to trade it to the NPC for HeroSwrd B, there is another way to get that HeroSwrd (HeroSwrd B is of interest because it's used in the Double Hero program advance).

If you really want a Dropdown B, the best (though still relying on luck) way to get it is to go to Internet Area 15 and encounter the Dropdown virus accompanied by a Fire Aura virus. Use a Sharkman 3 to get the aura off of the Fire Aura virus and do some damage, then when the Dropdown virus comes down use a second Sharkman 3 chip to delete them both and get an S-rank. If you're lucky, this will get you Dropdown B. If not, try again. Make sure to not move too much in the fight as the number of panels you move does affect your busting level (if you move more than twice your busting level goes down by 1).

You can get every code from the chip trader, it's just rare to get codes that are actually useful.

Interesting. I suppose that makes sense, though it will still be unlikely to pull a Dropdown B as it's also available in the A,O,R, & T codes. I actually quite like the extra possible codes in the chip trader in general; it makes more folders viable. Managed to get 10 HeroSwrd I's which go well with 10 Invis1 I's, 5 Iceman 3 I's, and 5 Remobit2 I's (idk what other chip to use; probably doesn't matter lol).

The downside of course is that in general, if you specifically need Dropdown B then you'll probably have better luck with the virus.
