English Translation
As someone who has enjoyed all of these before, I really considered getting it but my friend has it, and the English translation was so bad I don't think I could even play it... Does anyone know if this has been fixed?

these games are unmodified, the english translation isn't that bad though? people blow the issue way out of proportion.

This. There's a few issues like Load Chaud and Legs Go, or misplaced quotation marks at the beginning of BN3, but the translation is readable. There are some hiccups, sure, but this is how they were originally released.

is Load Chaud that bad of a translation? I know people meme about it but you read it and you know exactly what is being said. a name is a name /shrug. Legs go is like one isolated instance of a spelling error, and sure one time Lan was called a her or whatever but yeah, agreed, it's 100% readable.

I myself don't think it's that big a deal. I think it's charming, even.

They are more like typo than mistranslation. The "Load Chaud" thing for example is obviously suppose to be "Lord Chaud" which is an accurate translation of the Japanese version of 伊集院様 (Ijuin-sama) Ijuin Enzan being the original Japanese name of Eugene Chaud.

The only noticeable gripe is that for some reason the developer decided to use different style of fonts in the dialog box across all the games in this collection. Which make it very weird and uncanny especially after transitioning from one game to another.

What translation issues were "So bad it's unplayable" ?

I'm with everyone else here. I started BN3 recently after playing through BN1 and 2's stories and while there's certainly been some funny typos, it's nothing that ruins the experience or anything. To go so far as to call it unplayable seems very over dramatic.
They did finally translate the Legendary Tombs so you can get the secondary reward without a guide or knowing katakana (although you could always just examine everything)

The only mistranslation I found that could cause confusion is that the NaviCust rules sometimes say to put the smooth programs 'above' the command line instead of 'on' the command line.

Thanks for all the replies... but for clarification, I wasn't referring to the specific typos like "Legs go" and "Load Chaud" and all of that. I could always understand what they were trying to say; but as someone who has some limited interest in writing and English in general, I just found all the dialogue (like, almost ALL of it) just straight-up painful. So maybe it's just me. I will continue to be a Battle Network fan that does not buy this game :) Thanks again for the help!

As a native English speaker, it's pretty obvious the game wasn't released in English. As a big fan of the gameboy games, I was a little surprised they didn't translate these the same way. It's not a big deal, and apparently it's mostly just me; I just think they could have put some effort into it.

Would you happen to be kind enough to elaborate on what you mean by this? Typos aside, there's been next to nothing that has stuck out to me as bad English, and I'm a native speaker. I'm also confused by what you mean when you say you're a fan of the gameboy games but not the translation here, considering both are the same exact dialogue word for word.

The game WAS released in English and this is the original English translation for all the versions

Some limited interest in writing and English in general? I'm sorry but... what? Were you expecting the Silmarillion or something? I legitimately do not understand what you mean by this. Were you expecting Shakespeare? I just can not wrap my mind around what this could possibly mean.

Bro.... what? It *was* released in English. It's very well localized in-fact. Nothing about the dialog is particularly "Japanese" outside of a few characters, but that's kinda their whole schtick. As far as the Gameboy games, you're aware these use the same translation as the Gameboy games, right? What specifically is "low effort" to you here?

I'm sorry but this just reads as an incredibly poor bait post. If that was your intent, you've done it. If not, bro what?
