I also tested the boss setups on this playlist and can confirm they all work if you also need to get ghost navi chips. The movement can sometimes be pretty precise, but with a bit of practice it's definitely doable! I hope these help

I'm trying to do the LeafShield Q one, but all I ever get are two Fanner3s instead of one Fanner3 and one Popper2. The most annoying part is BombMan3 even shows up in my chips as expected. If you ran into this while testing these, could you explain what you did differently to get the desired virus encounter?

EDIT: I figured it out, i didn't notice the slight change in direction the guy does in the video. LeafShield Q is mine!
