Download Chips, One Time Only?
I just noticed that some of the download chips say that you can only redeem them once.... does that mean if you start a new playthrough that you can't redeem them again?

It's once per save file.

BN4 goes further, the download chips for that are once per *playthrough*.
The download chip will appear in the chip trader in the first game, so you can have as many as you want.
No clue if the duplication glitch works on the download chips in the second game.

Okay, If I understand correctly. It is not "one and done forever", it's per save. That makes a lot more sense.

Perhaps that is for the best if we either have an accident and press new game then proceed to save... or if we decide to start fresh.

If you start a new save, then the Download Chips will reset. It's just so you don't have a folder bursting with overpowered chips that can eliminate anything in a fraction of a second.

Though honestly you can already do that just by using Buster MAX. As far as I'm aware the download chips are banned online, so I don't really see the issue with people having some fun with an OP deck through the single player campaigns.

You can't S-rank with BusterMAX however due to being unable to double/triple delete.

You can, I've gotten many S ranks using Buster MAX in BN1 and BN2 so far while testing around. It's really easy against boss navi's like Gutsman because you just have to beat them fast. For normal enemies, if you can use a chip that takes out one or two enemies immediately and then mash the buster button to take out the last enemy as fast as possible sometimes it will result in an S rank. You could also just not use the buster at all and use a chip that destroys all enemies immediately such as Bass and get the S rank that way. Basically having Buster MAX enabled doesn't do anything to stop you from getting S ranks the same way you would normally.

I guess I should have said that one cannot S-rank viruses as Navi scoring is different.
