How does the online feel?
Does this game have some kind of online rollback, or is it still delay-based? If the latter, does the game stutter too much if you play against users that are too far away from you?

Asking this question way too early. No one plays this game online yet.
Yeah, give it a couple of weeks to a month to get your proper answer

there are connection bars for pvp. i played against some people on red 1 bar and it stutters a lot to the point they disconnect at some point in the battle and it ends up in draw. yellow bar stutters maybe a little bit but not too noticable. there is no real input delay from playing online unless there is stutter. i had no noticable issues with green bar connections

It feels like the only way I can find someone is by being host. It feels like looking for a host should send your request out over time the same way a host gets to sit in their lobby for like 5 minutes. I've gotten connected with more people while hosting in MMBN 4 than I have while joining in MMBN 3 or 6. If I can get more traffic in 4 of all places, then something is messed up with the system that makes joining a crapshoot.

Idk, maybe I'm missing something or doing something wrong. Either way i'm starting to think all those "can't find anyone online" posts are from joiners who aren't hosting.

Honestly, it's flawed. You have players like Dai that have win streaks that are not earned. I was able to best them numerous times and decides to rage quit each time to keep their score perfect. If they leave before the score gets updated, your match ends up in draw, keeping their streak going without penalty. To the point that if I run into them, it's a lose-lose situation because I cannot leave the match before it begins, since I keep running into them. Rank is more of a trinket than anything in this current state. Hence why it's going to be limited to private matches in the foreseeable future. Netcode overall is solid, couldn't tell you if it's delay-based (most likely), but it's solid.

The online is minimum effort and poorly slapped onto the game.

In terms of connection, it ranged from vaguely acceptable to god awful. I doubt that the competitive scene will swap to this collection when they already have rollback modded into the emulators.

No idea, chip grinding takes months to do before even touching the online.

How odd. It seems to me like the most obvious way to handle it would have been that whoever the one is who quit the match should count as the loser so that streaks can't be preserved like that. I guess the logic was probably that they didn't want to implement an easy way for someone to boost their friend by quitting the match over and over? At the very least though, making it so that getting a tie kills your streak would probably be a decent compromise.

A better way of doing it might just be to have the player with lower HP lose if they're the one who disconnected though, so that people couldn't kill their opponents streaks.

They have check systems for when someone fishes for rank boosting in other competitive games. Typically in fighting games you lose your streak and is considered a loss if you rage quit and a timeout is placed if they are repeated offenders.

Most likely the foe is using task manager at the appropriate time in order to preserve their streak. And if that’s the case, then the other ports do not have this issue. I'm surprised that most users arn't just rushing the games to get the best chips just to play online. Rushing the game is a waste. I do use buster max to rush battles in BN1 but turn it off for boss fights, and will probably leave it off after BN1. That's great, personally i'ma enjoy the games like I did when I was younger, I'll get to online whenever I get to it.

idk what you're talkin about. i only fought you twice and you got destroyed both times. you missed all your guts shoot and quit. also if you leave or quit with task manager you get a loss when you log back in. you're just mad even when you quit you got 2 losses LOL

I personally don’t have a grudge but the denial is real it’s not even funny I bested you twice prior to your new setup with Anubis and Steal, which you clearly took inspiration from another player on rank, who by the way, sets it up pretty clean. And I left knowing it was pointless because you kept desynching, and still took the L on my streak. I don’t care about the ratio. But I’m legit amused that you act like I didn’t interact with you prior to the two losses you gave to me.

I just know you clearly know how to exploit the streak by either a save editor or other means. Don’t act like the desynch is a coincidence, that’s all. If we ever cross paths I’ll make sure to record to prove my point, because it’s easier to lie and act like nothing happened without concrete proof. I’m certain other players would catch on to your antics, but it doesn’t matter the online is flawed.

all i see here is you admitting you lost to me twice, decided to call me out on it on a public forum, meanwhile you have 0 evidence of encountering me before. :B1: don't hold grudges you're gonna get an ulcer
