So what's the deal with version exclusive stuff

Do they handle this like the Wii U ports where they just give you the version exclusive/multiplayer only secret chips. Please dear god tell me they did this I don't want to play through BN4 6 times and engage with the stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ navi link tourney that's already RNG hell

You have access to all the chips no exclusivity. The only ones you have to collect are the ones already in the games

So they do just give them to you like in the Wii U ports? And you aren't forced to do trades for version exclusive navi chips and such? I haven't gotten a single direct confirmation and I want to make sure

From everything I gathered, you sadly still need to play EXE 4 six times. At least three times if you only care to complete one version.

Just checked all his videos. Didn't say *A WORD* about if version exclusive chips need trades or not. Look do I make the day 1 purchase or do I wait for a cheat engine of some kind so I don't have to engage with online trades and the god-awful RNG hell Free Tourney in BN4

I am curious, do the version chips require trading? Would be a boneheaded move to make a collection to preserve all the chips, only to then have that rely on a server that will go down one day. Id even be fine with you being able to trade between your own versions, just something you can do solo.

I'm also curious about this. From what I can tell, solo trading between versions isn't an option (though I could be wrong).

Would be nice to have an answer (might take some time for people to get further in).

If BN2 Hard Mode is still locked behind VS secret chips and if BN3 end-game content is still crippled by Mist/Bowl Man unavailability.

Then there's the later titles disallowing certain codes from battles for chips...

No, everyone gets access to the same version chips regardless of what consoles you get them on... So doesn't matter which one you get, you still get access to all the same Japanese only battle chips and all the 499 patch cards.

I appreciate the response, but this wasn't the question I asked.

When I meant version exclusive chips, I meant that in the literal sense, i.e. navis exclusive to one game or the other. Alongside the handful of multiplayer only secret chips in 2, 3, 4
