severe performance issues :(
im getting like 4-6fps (as reported by the steam fps counter) both in the main menu as well as in game. its all versy slowed down and obviously unplayable in this state :(

my system:
win 11 64bit
i7 4790k 4ghz
radeon r9 390 8gb
12gb ram

i know its pretty old by now but still above the recommended specs. other retro collections work perfectly fine.
havent found another thread about this yet, so it seems to be some kind of isolated issue with my system but i really cant figure out what the problem could be :/

edit: after further testing task manager reports the following gpu usage for different games:

mm battle network collection: 3D - 0%, video decode - 100%

mm zero/zx collection: 3D - 15%, video decode - 0%
mm legacy collection: 3D - 20%, video decode - 0%
mm x legacy collection: 3D - 30%, video decode - 0%
ff 6 pixel remaster: 3D - 10-15%, video decode - 0%

the battle network collection is doing something very different for whatever reason and i dont know why.. :P

edit 2: july 4th update didnt change anything

you are literally the only person I've heard of having issues. I would suspect you should check and make sure all your drivers are updated and see if you have something going in the background that's really eating all your resources. I'd also possibly re-download/install the game if you keep having problems, the usual troubleshooting steps (including rebooting) and see if that helps.

edit: I should amend to issues to this degree* I heard a couple of the reviewers say there is minor slow down with some overworld maps for cutscenes that look a little janky, but only for cutscenes in the world, not during battle or anywhere else, and certainly not to 4-6 fps

thank you for your reply. yeah, i know im alone with this problem for now :/ already tried all the usual steps you mentioned.
system and drivers are up to date. verified integrity of game files. redownloaded both games. restarted the pc. checked background tasks. checked systems performance profile. im really at a loss here at what it could be

Try force the game to run on a different GPU. Try out intel graphics or radeon, maybe it would work.

is it one specific game or did you try others in the collection? is it constant or for a cut scene? If none of the other things helped, I am not sure what else you can do, I'm sorry none of it helped :S If you find its only for one game, maybe report it and hope for a patch and play a different game in the meantime

its everything and constant in both collections. menus and games. tried lower and higher resolutions, tried windowed, borderless and fullscreen. no change every time.
thank you for trying to help though

Im having the same issue, once the music starts playing, everything goes reeeeaaaally slow.

My specs:
Ryzen 3 2200G
Win 10 64 bits
8GB RAM
Radeon RX 570 4GB
Not having any issues on Steam Deck beyond the main menu background not being animated

No performance issues I've noticed on my PC. Just out of curiosity, does it make a difference whether you are in windowed mode and what screen resolution you have the game set to? You could also try going into your GPU's control panel and seeing if there's any settings you could tweak to boost performance, such as enabling/disabling vsync.

Did you disabled it? I'm sure that those animations are the problem in my case, but I can't event go to settings.

I've tried some configurations, but no difference :(, the only strange thing was that the game wasn't automatically recognized, I add it manually.

You cannot disable the animations. Them not moving is a bug

another update after fiddling around.
opening the radeon software menu and leaving it on the "home" tab there drops the "video decode" usage of the bn collection from 100% to around 80% and i get 60fps.
any other tab in the radeon software or closing it completely drops the fps to ~4 again...
it just doesnt make sense to me.. :P

That is pretty weird, I am playing on AMD phenom II x4 b95 and GT 1030 yet I am not getting any weird performance.

It should show usage at 3D and not video decode though.

Reinstalling all my GPU drivers fix my problem, now is time to LOG IN!

Maybe you need to update your GPU driver if possible.
