Jokes on me though, I know 3 languages, Japanese being one of them, so I don't need translations. :P

It's also worth mentioning that the human characters of this series have real Japanese surnames. The English versions tried too hard to pretend it doesn't take place in Japan.
the old megaman and i think megaman x series normally had contests
you can find them in old gaming magazines, fan contests for the robot villain bosses
winners picked would become an actual boss or bosses, they did a few of them i think
so odd names may have come from winners too most likely
