PSA - Controllers don't work

I've confirmed that a few controllers simply do not get recognized on this game, and some friends have said the same. However, for some reason, my fight stick DOES get recognized. If you've got one, it could be a decent substitute until they patch it out.

EDIT: Figured it out! Right-click the game in your library and go to Properties > Controller > select the dropdown and choose "Enable Steam Input." The game will now recognize your controller!

PSA - Controllers DO WORK! or at least my old PS4 and PS3 controllers work. My offbrand Switch controller doesnt but thats expected.

Its not working for me and I have a ps4 controller are you using a mapper like DS4 Windows.

For PS4 controllers maybe the other also.
From the steam window.
Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Setting > Check the Playstation Configuration Support. This fixed it for me

no other 3rd party programs used here. make sure the ps4 controller is not bluetooth paired and make sure you are wired for the PS4 controller.

My switch pro controller works just fine. I think it recognises it as an Xbox One controller in the picture, but the button prompts label the buttons correctly regardless of control scheme.

Yeah but I want it to be labeled as playstation controls :/ Why couldn't they do that considering this is on playstation too and switch and all of those.

My Switch controller initially was not working, but changing around some of the configuration settings on the Steam side of the settings menu eventually got it working. Not sure which specifically worked, but essentially checked every checkbox related to Switch controllers.

Probably have to wait for someone to create a Playstation button prompt mod, like usual. Been playing the FF13 games while waiting for this to release and across all 3 games I had to put in a damn mod for the buttons each time.

I never understand why they can't just have the buttons change. They put these games on multiple consoles so why not just add the ability to change the button prompt in the games too.

Probably since this game isn’t cross play then there is no point? That’s my guess anyway
