liking it so far! i think the camera when roaming as well as the map need some work for the full game/updated demo. the map should have a current location tag and maybe even mission markers

Thanks for trying it out! I totally get the desire to have map markers, and I'll be doing an overhaul of the map for the full game. Could you tell me more about the camera (too sensitive, limited, etc.)?

I am absolutely LOVING the demo. However, I personally think the camera is too sensitive when moving the mouse! Also I might just be bad at the game, but fossils seem way too sensitive to the touch of the drill. Damaging it seems unavoidable and it feels more tedious then fun. Also maybe there could be a scrapbook in the game where your screenshots can be viewed! I can try to explain these things in more detail if needed!

LOVE the fossil clean up mechanics & driving around meeting silly characters & helping them out~! Gonna +1 on the scrapbook/notebook idea, maybe with little scribbly notes about the discovered fossils & facts under a polaroid of the find. Could possibly be a good place to track what the different characters need help with as a quest log. & THE CHARACTER CUSTOMISATION I LOVE, my guy is so funky I love him :loddlelove:

Thank you for playing! I'm so glad you're enjoying the demo :) Is the camera too sensitive even when you lower it in the settings? I'll work on that, for sure. As for the fossil cleaning mini game — super valid critiques! It's going to get a major overhaul for the full release. I absolutely adore the scrapbook idea. I will 100% be implementing that! Great feedback 10/10

I'm so glad you're having such a good time with the demo! I like your spin on the scrapbook idea, and I think I'll definitely have to do some sort of quest log for the full release — so this might be a great way to synthesize those two things! If you have the time, I'd love to see a picture of the funky lil guy you've made :)

1. I think adding a separate sensitivity slide to x and y axis would be great, the y is too fast while x is too slow for me
2. how do I refuel please? :cleandino:
3. adding a marker where we are on the map would be super helpful
4. also adding like "press E to continue" in the beginning text bubble would be helpful, cause I was trying to figure out what key I need to press
That's all I could think of for now.
I love that I can pick what dino a want to be :D (parasaurolophus my beloved)

I appreciate the feedback! Thanks for giving the demo a go :) I've seen most of these ideas floating around, so I'll be implementing them all for sure. As for refueling — just go to sleep (button in the pause menu or tent in camp). This was definitely an oversight on my end, and I'm going to make that clearer in the future. Thanks again!

Really like the demo, but I have a couple audio nitpicks:
1. The thunder and item pickup sounds are noticeably louder than everything else.
2. The single music track for exploring gets a little repetitive.
Otherwise very enjoyable, looking forward to the full game!

Thank you for giving it a go! I'm glad you enjoyed your time with the demo. I love the audio-specific feedback. I'll definitely check out those SFX you mentioned. As for the music, I'm planning to work with the composer to add in some more tracks (storm, cleaning mini game, etc.) to give the game more variety and hopefully keep any earworms from developing!

Hi I love the game except I have 2 qualms: 1] is the mouse sensitivity jumps to 100 when you exit the mini game of cleaning up the fossils, (it makes the camera go: WEEEEE and my eyes and stomach go: BLEHH); also the cross-hairs sensitivity (in the mini game) seems really high to me, I turned it down to 5 (out of 100). 2] the "slide-y ness" of the car is too much, especially when I'm playing with a controller; I actually quit the game because it was too much. I love the characters though - they all have distinct personalities. Might I suggest adding in elevation lines for the terrain? it would fit the style and make everything a little clearer for where to drive the car. Also maybe adding in a puzzle element to the cleaning mini game? For example - instead of just immediately displaying the fossil we have to piece it together (not a hard a real dis-articulated fossil lol) but something like that? ALSO adding in a little visual image tutorial for how to use the car would be nice, instead of us having to go to the settings and figure out how to get out of the truck lol XD But I love the characters and how each and every one has a distinct personality and I love my little Yuutyrannous, her name is Yuumi :) Thanks for making this really charming game and I cant wait to play it when the full release comes out! Good luck with everything!!

I am totally loving the demo! The fossil minigame is the absolute star of the show for me. I do think it would be helpful to display all the controls players can utilize to clean the fossil in the ui, as I managed to forget I could rotate while working on my first fossil. :P

The default mouse sensitivity is much too high, and the truck controls are a bit clunky and result in a lot of inadvertent fish-tailing. I love how things you pick up can be seen in the back of your truck and bounce around though. Very cute!

Love the array of characters and the funny tasks you need to help them with, and I'm having so much fun exploring the region and finding things. I love that you can see all your dig sites on the map and what their status is, although I do wish the current location of the player was visible on the map.

Some other humble suggestions:
Please let me play as some of your adorable sauropods!!! <3
Please let me make my truck pink! <3
Stegosaurus playable????? please <3

It would also be nice to be able to reenter the customization menu. :D I'd also love a button that would randomize only colors in the customization menu.

Hi! I just spent a couple of hours playing the demo, and there's a couple of things I'd really like to see:
Mostly I'd like some sort of journal/quest tracking feature! My memory isn't fantastic and I have a hard time remembering what the NPCs have said sometimes. It would be nice to have a little page for all the dig-site location clues you have that can get checked off once you find the sites themselves so you know which sites the clues refer to.
It would also be nice to be able to track any of the little quests you've been assigned, like finding Carlos' guide book or handing out the 5 tickets.

Overall I'm really impressed with the demo! It's a lovely style and a fun premise. I can definitely see myself spending a lot of time hunting down fossils, haha!

Thank you for trying the demo, and I really love this feedback. Because of your bug report, I've pushed a new build that fixes the sensitivity issue post-minigame. I'm really sorry the truck's handling was so rough for you. I will definitely be tightening the truck controls up for the final release (and maybe even for steam next fest, so you could potentially revisit the demo). I like the idea of topographical lines to give the terrain more texture, and I'm planning a major overhaul of the cleaning mini game for the final release which could absolutely include a puzzle/articulating element. Other people have also mentioned the desire for visual control schemes for the truck/minigame — so I'll be working on that, too! I'm glad you enjoyed what you were able to experience, and — again — thank you for taking the time to give me your thoughts!

Hi! I'm glad you're loving it :) I really like the fossil minigame, too — and it's only gonna get better with the full release! I will work on adding in a visual control scheme because I agree that it's hard to internalize all those controls as they're being thrown at you. Good suggestions with the mouse sensitivity, truck controls, and player location. I like all the "humble suggestions," and I'm planning on adding all three for the full release (sauropods are just hard to fit in the truck lol). Thanks for taking the time to give me such great feedback!

Your thoughts are echoing a few other ideas in this thread, and I think I will be implementing a sort of scrapbook with photos (including the polaroid selfies you can take) that contains all the pertinent quest/dig info. I really like the idea of coupling the clues to dig sites so the player understands when they're done with a clue. Brilliant idea. Thanks for playing and for providing your feedback!
