Also as mentioned above you need the "Recruiter" skill to hire higher level waiters and chefs
If you don't have winter in the game you can collect seashells and clams from the beach and sell those to the fish shop guy and gain money. Or you can hunt and sell meat to Uriel. You can also sell fruits, berries and vegetables to the other merchants in the town.
When you are standing in front of the shop click "shop" and then click the brown bag icon. Then you can sell ingredients from your inventory. :)
