I saw someone complaining in the Fields of Mistria discussion about the "revealing" clothing of the female characters and asking for them to be more covered up. So you can never make everyone happy.
Oh glad to hear! Will probably make the buy. Game looks sick!
In reality the minority are those who go around asking for woke content in the games, people are tired of that ideological garbage, that's why in LATAM we make fun of the woke crap. Not for nothing Wukong received such a good review after knowing that it had been questioned for not being “woke”.
They see woke stuff everywhere.
Well, In a game with romanceable NPCs it would be nice to have attractive options. As it stands, from a heterosexual male point of view, maaaaybe the rude town clerk girl (forget her name) is the best looking option
That’s not.. ideal. Im all for options and I love the style but that shouldn’t be a limiting factor here
This game being attractive or not is a matter of opinion. There's people posting saying they love the design. YOU are the one who has an issue with. I personally don't mind them.
Different games are held to different standards for graphics. If a game is promoted as a AAA game the expectation is higher for the graphics. Plenty of games use 8-bit graphics and they do fine.
Concord had waaaayyyy more issues than it just being a matter of it being an unattractive design to some. Talking to you kind of feels like talking to a child about the economy. Price is also a factor. Concord is double the cost. Thus double the expectations for value. It was a hero shooter which has an oversaturated market. This game is far more niche. It has some similar competitors but it's unique enough to separate itself. There are many factors to why Concord failed and it wasn't because it was "woke." People ranting about a game being woke does not matter. If the game is good all of you psychos will be ignored. The issue was Concord was awful -- their CEO was embezzling money instead of investing it into the game.
You thinking it failed because of it being "woke" and unappealing graphics makes me envision you as a resident of Salem during the witch hunting trials. They foolishly believed a witch could not sink in water so they add heavy weights to them and if they drown they're innocent. But you and the rest of the crazy villagers are throwing rocks. Somehow you relate them dying to the collective rocks hitting them and not them literally being dragged to the bottom of the body of water due to the weights attached to them. The rocks didn't help... but they were already going to drown.
It's probably mods may be allowed later. The graphics are hit or miss but many people are fine with them. Personally I don't care. You can't appeal to everyone. There's always going to be someone who doesn't like what you create and people who do.
Trying to chalk about all the failure of concord to just character designs is moronic.
I love the art of the world/buildings, etc, but the character portraits are really hard to look at in my opinion. That doesn't mean it ruins the game for me or anything, but it certainly hasn't added anything to it.
At any rate, I don't mean any disrespect to the Devs, as I can see how much work and love they put into this. But the character art does seem to be pretty hit or miss with people since it's a rather bold and unusual style. So discussions like this are inevitable.
There will be more characters added, I'm sure, but I wouldn't stray far from the styles you've already made just to appease people who prefer the same cookie-cutter anime portraits. (Nothing against people who prefer that, I like them too, but for once, seeing neato, different designs and a style I've never seen before should be AT LEAST accepted and not trashed).
